At today’s Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition showcase, indie developer Funktronic Labs have revealed their exciting new battle royale title, Scramble Knights Royale. In a very crowded battle royale space, Scramble Knights Royale looks to bring 32 players together in an entirely different way.
Drawing heavily from classic adventure games like Links Awakening – in visual style, setting and combat – and blending them with survival elements, players will need to traverse a diverse archipelago to scramble together items to help them be the lone survivor.
Players will start in a boat on the water and jump off at a place of their choosing, before riding a turtle to shore to begin the scavenge. You will then head into dungeons, tackle puzzles and complete quests on the hunt for the loot you’ll need to be the strongest ahead of the ever-closing circle. New armour, weapons and more will be out there for you to find, all equipable to make an exciting and powerful build.
Players can enter the archipelago solo against 31 others, or there will be duos play for 16 teams of two plucky knights. There is also couch co-op available. Whilst cute in aesthetic, the game will have deep combat including sword play, dodge rolling, parry, combo attacks and more. Whether you want to want to ‘third party’ pounce on weak foes, that’s up to you.
Scramble Knights Royale will launch in 2026 on Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. There is no mention of whether the game will be in Game Pass at this time. Players can wishlist on both platforms now. Players can also request to join the playtest via Steam.
