It’s no surprise that 2025 was a great year for JRPG fans. With games such as Atelier Yumia, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles all seeing releases this year, they’ve been eating well. Of course there was a game that certain gamers may have missed due to its limited release on Switch and PC. Thankfully, it sounds like this will be resolved just in time for you to be not just an Earth Dancer but also a romancer!
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is making it’s way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S February 13, 2026. It could be the perfect gift for the cozy gamer in your life who wants JRPG fun in the mix. While Guardians of Azuma was a spin off of the Rune Factory series, this re-imagination was quite fun. We had the opportunity to review the PC version of Guardians of Azuma so if you’re considering adding this to your collection, be sure to check out our review.

Guardians of Azuma simplifies some of the farming aspects from previous Rune Factory games. This actually makes the series feel more accessible to new comers to the series. It’s a fantastic entry point for those who want to dive in for the first time. Guardians of Azuma welcomes newcomers without the need to go back to previous entries in the series. Those who have played others may recognize certain game mechanics, characters, and even tropes of the games but will find much to enjoy.
Enjoy bonding with your companions, getting to know the villagers, and recruiting NPCs to manage the farm. There may be many memories to relive within the game for those who previously purchased it on PC or Switch.
For physical game collectors, Guardians of Azuma PlayStation 5 edition is now available for pre-order on Amazon for US purchasers. Digital Editions will also come in a variety of different ways. You can choose the standard, deluxe, or super deluxe for additional outfits and bundles to use throughout your game.

Will this be a JRPG you’ll be adding to your collection? If so, will you be splurging on the physical or is digital your preferred choice. For those who have played it, let us know if you enjoyed it as much as we did in the comments down below!
