We here at Gamer Social Club have been pretty big advocates for physical gaming. No matter what console you choose, there are many of us who want to be able to hold a physical copy in our hands and enjoy the game without being concerned for internet connection or servers being down. In the past we’ve discussed that game preservation discussions need to include physical games if it is to succeed. Now there’s one more game finding its way to a physical release and perhaps be one of those preserved games.
Earlier today, DMM GAMES and Kazutaka Kodaka of Tookyo Games announced that SHUTEN ORDER would be getting Physical Editions in North America and Europe. These editions would be releasing Spring 2026. North American consumers will be able to purchase copies for both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. However those in Europe will exclusively be able to purchase Switch 2 physical editions.
PM Studios which will be releasing the physical editions in North America has taken to Twitter to confirm the game will also be all on the cart. Hopefully this also means all patches will be included to ensure no further issues with game play.
We're proud to partner once more with @SpikeChunsoft_e to bring SHUTEN ORDER physically to Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2!

SHUTEN ORDER is a multi genre game led by Kazutaka Kodaka who is known for the Danganronpa Series. This was a very busy year for him with SHUTEN ORDER, Tribe Nine, and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. You can view the launch trailer below to learn about the different genres that make up this ambitious title. If the trailer isn’t enough or you haven’t yet checked out SHUTEN ORDER, be sure to read our review. While this game may have gone under the radar for many, this was definitely one of my favorite games of the year.

Now that the SHUTEN ORDER physical release is coming will you be adding this to your collection? If so, for those of you who have the option will you be going for the Switch 1 or the Switch 2 edition? Switch 2 comes with mouse control so there may be some incentive there!
