Pathea Games, the indie studio known for the My Time series of farm sims, announced its new title, The God Slayer, which looks far more ambitious than its previous work.

The God Slayer looks like… Assassin’s Creed meets The Legend of Korra in a steampunk world, and if the first gameplay trailer is anything to go by, it looks very promising. The game sees you playing as an elemancer known as Cheng as he battles to overthrow a tyrannical group of gods known as Celestials by commanding the elements.
Early on, gameplay looks to be varied as Cheng looks like a powerhouse in combat as he creates massive flame walls or flash freezes enemies, but can also use his control of the elements to avoid combat altogether by doing things such as creating smoke screens or causing rock slides to knock enemies off buildings or structures.

The game features parkour that may remind fans of Assassin’s Creed, but with an avatar twist as Cheng uses abilities such as fire to rocket himself or double jump. The game doesn’t look to be partially stealth-based like the Assassin’s Creed franchise, however.
The My Time games were pretty well received, and I remember having fun with My Time at Portia myself, but this is a step in a different direction for Pathea Games. Many gamers seem to be responding positively to the announcement, as a good Avatar game is something that fans have wanted for a very long time, and this may be the closest we get. Perhaps Pathea can be the next Chinese Dev that really breaks out like how Game Science did after Black Myth.

No release date for The God Slayer yet, but it’s planned to launch on Xbox Series platforms, PS5, and PC.
