Zoopunk Announced at Xbox Partner Preview

TiGames showed off their new title Zoopunk at the Xbox Partner Preview. The game will serve as a narrative prequel to their previous game, F.I.S.T : Forged In Shadow Torch.

The protagonist of that game, Rayton the rabbit will serve as the player character once again but, Zoopunk will be a major departure from F. I. S. T, as it’s a 3D character action game in the vein of Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry where as F. I. S. T was a metroidvania.

It’ll be interesting to see if Rayton will eventually get his giant mechanical fist from the last game, but for now, he seems content with a pair of electric swords that he can turn into a staff and other weapons yet to be revealed. Gameplay for Zoopunk looks slick and stylish so far, albeit a bit stiff, but the game is still over a year away at least.

Rayton also won’t be the sole playable character this time. A rhino with a massive sword that also doubles as a chainsaw and a squirrel with twin pistols were also shown to be playable and it looks like Rayton will be able to call them in as back up.

F.I.S.T. was a good game and early on it looks like Zoopunk will be a solid title from TiGames as well. There isn’t an official release date for Zoopunk yet, but a release date for 2027 is planned and it will be launching on Xbox Series platforms, PC and PS5.

Eventually, I grew to love fighting games in particular and began to compete and even win competitions for some games, primarily the 2013 revival of killer instinct. Outside of gaming I also have aspirations of being a comic book artist with a few ideas of my own im developing in my head. When reviewing any game I try to keep my mind open and avoid nitpicking too much. It takes a lot for something to detract me from truly enjoying it so I may not focus on smaller details the way some others might do. I enjoy almost any genre, just don't ask me to play horror games or puzzle games.
