Following months of reasonable speculation, Silent Hill 2 is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S. Silent Hill 2 is one of the finest horror games in recent years and we awarded an incredibly rare GSC 10/10 in our review.
Ahead of theXbox Partner Direct today, the remake of the second entry in Konami’s flagship horror series has been made available on the Australian and New Zealand Xbox Store. For both markets, there is a 50% off launch discount making the game AU$49.97 / NZ$59.97 respectively. It is likely the game will release in more markets in the coming hours, the game is listed but not currently available on the UK or North American stores.
With the Xbox release, the game will support Xbox Play Anywhere enabling players to play between Xbox Series consoles, Xbox PC and the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds.
It’s unsurprising that Silent Hill 2 has come to Xbox, as the series other most recent entry, Silent Hill f launched on Microsoft’s hardware in September. Silent Hill f also scored very highly in our review.
Bloober who developed the Silent Hill 2 remake have already confirmed that they’re working on remaking the original Silent Hill. In October on an investment call, CEO Piotr Babieno and VP Karolina Nowak said “We have two first-party production teams, one of which is working on Silent Hill 1, and the other has begun work on a second project.”.
So, despite it being a little later than spooky season, Xbox players will finally be able to play Silent Hill 2 across all Xbox Play Anywhere supported platforms.
