“New Game +” Coming to Ghost of Yotei

I am a few weeks behind the curve when it comes to picking up Ghost of Yotei. However, the 12 hours I managed to sink into the first weekend of buying the game, I was hooked again. The gorgeous scenery, the bloody and challenging combat, and of course, my favorite…the foxes.

One thing that was noticeably absent from the game’s launch, however, was a New Game Plus option. Well, Sony and Sucker Punch know what we want and they’re delivering. A free patch will be coming to Ghost of Yotei on November 24th.

In the new Version 1.100.000, you’ll be able to experience Atsu’s journey again and follow her in the wake of revenge and blood. And you’ll be doing so with all the equipment you have earned. Yes – that means, and to quote Sony, “…it’s time to bring a gun to a sword fight.”

New Game Plus mode will unlock after completion of the Main Story of Ghost of Yotei. In New Game Plus, there will be harder difficulty options to choose from, as well as two new Trophies to seek out. There will also be a new currency within the game called Ghost Flowers. For those that played Ghost of Tsushima, you know that there was also a new merchant in New Game Plus – Baku the Voiceless. In Yotei, there will be another merchant (probably not Baku), who will be selling:

30 New Cosmetics
New Armor Sets
New Weapon Dyes
10 New Charms

New Game Plus will also feature an additional tier of upgrades for all of your existing armor sets and weaponry. In addition to all of the new pretty bells and whistles, there’s also upgrades going on behind the scenes for the base game, including:

The ability to replay content in the post-game after the main story’s completion
A new stats display system
New accessibility options, including directional button remapping
New Photo Mode features, including shutter speeds, a composition grid, and new filters
