Winter Burrow – Moss Moves On Achievement Guide

Winter Burrow might be the cutest and cosiest survival-crafting game we have ever seen, but it’s not without its challenges! The game has a few dozen achievements/trophies, and while most of them you are likely to unlock just through playing, there are a few we thought some people might want some help with. So here is our Moss Moves On achievement guide to assist you in completing all of Moss’ quests in Winter Burrow.

Check out our Winter Burrow Review to read our full thoughts on the game.

Moss Moves On Achievement Guide

You will be able to reach Moss the Hedgehog once you have the first pickaxe by helping Bufo the frog with his first quest. (check out our Family Reunion Achievement Guide for help with that)

Head North of your burrow and use your pickaxe to mine the three rocks blocking the path into another area.

Once through, take the left path when it appears, and you will find Moss chilling in their tent.

For their first quest, Find Signs of Pinesap, Moss wants you to find three 3 snow fox fur tufts. They can be found in the Shadow Pines region out in the open, but they can be hard to spot due to blending in with the snow.

Go back to the fork in the path and take the North route to a new, larger area. Head Northeast (top right) and keep an eye out for a white clump of fur near some rocks.

The next white fox fur clump is just to the North of the first one, and the last one is just a bit further North again.

Return to Moss with the three white fur clumps, and you will get your next quest, A Missing Key.

The key can be found next to an animal skull near where you find Gnawtusk. From the squirrel’s camp, go through the path to the left and then down a narrow, dark path from the small area you start in to a larger area. Go through the exit on the left side, and you will find the skull and the key in this little area.

Return to the Moss with the key, and they will thank you, but refuse to open the parlour to eat, choosing to go hungry until their friend Pinesap returns.

You can continue Moss’ questline once you have had the narrative beat that ends the second act of the game. Go to your burrow and talk to your Aunty, who will give you a shawl to take to Moss for the Bring Moss Their Old Shawl quest.

Return to Moss, who will be reminded of your Aunty, and give you a recipe for a type of stew, as well as some mushroom seeds. You need to make this mushroom stew for your Aunty as part of the next quest, Cooking A Healing Stew For Aunty.

The mushroom stew uses all four types of mushrooms in the game, which you can get all of in the basement, if you have cleared the stairs, plant them yourself, or find them out in the world.

Aunty will feel stronger after having the mushroom stew and will give you the blueprint for the best axe, completing this quest. Be sure to craft the axe back at your burrow.

Speak to Moss again, and they will give you the quest Find More Signs Of Pinesap, as well as a blueprint for better footwear.

You need to find Pinesap’s shawl, so take the North exit from Moss’ area and then head Northwest (top right) in the next, larger area, like we did when looking for the white fox fur tufts. Take the exit heading North out of this area.

In the next area, take the left path in the fork into the next area, cut through the thin, thorny vines with your axe, and take the left path in the fork again.

Take the left path a third time at the fork and follow it around to find an abandoned cart. Cut through the thick, green vines nearby and go through the exit passed them. Follow the path in this area to find Pinesap’s shawl at the end.

Return to Moss with the shawl, and they will reward you with a set of new clothing blueprints and their last quest: It’s Time To Find Pinesap.

To finish Moss’ questline, you will need the best pickaxe, which you unlock at the end of Bufo the frog’s questline. (check out our Family Reunion Achievement Guide for help with that)

Head back to where you found Pinesap’s shawl and use your pickaxe to clear the rocks on the left, revealing a path leading to a new area. Here, you will find what happened to Pinesap. Pick up the pendant near them, and go back and give Moss the sad news.

You will unlock the Moss Moves On achievement once you finish talking to Moss.
