Temper your expectations if you were hoping to head to the land of Tamriel again soon. Todd Howard, the Director of The Elder Scrolls VI has stated the game is “still a long way off” from release.
First GTA 6, and now Elder Scrolls 6?! In a recent interview with GQ, the visionary at Bethesda Games Studios talked upcoming RPG, Fallout 4 and the Fallout TV series. On the long anticipated sequel to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, released back in 2011 (the first time), Howard is “preaching patience”.
It’s been seven years since we were first treated to the announcement teaser, that The Elder Scrolls VI was in pre-production. The trailer has now been viewed over 20 million times!
In the interview, he alludes to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered shadow drop as a test scenario for the release of the next title, claiming it “worked out well”.
There wasn’t much else to glean from the interview with GQ, though The Elder Scrolls VI is the “everyday thing”. They also said they’d done some work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make a character in someone’s honour, with a three hour play test of The Elder Scrolls VI.
Todd also dangled that they were working on some “other things” relating to Fallout, as well as the MMO Fallout 76, but what those things are is anyone’s guess.
Are you excited for a new Elder Scrolls, or are you saving yourself until VI is in your hands?
