The launch of Resident Evil Requiem is getting closer and closer. With a release date of February 27 2026 mere months away, Capcom have opened pre-orders for the new title as well as a Deluxe Edition, a Switch 2 Pro Controller and an Amiibo.
In a great new video ‘Road to Requiem’ featuring Maggie Robertson, voice of Alcina (Lady) Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village (8), Capcom share an entertaining recap of the franchise’s lore and what’s to come from Requiem:
Resident Evil Requiem Standard Edition
The base game of Resident Evil Requiem will be getting a physical and digital launch on all consoles – Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The game will also have a digital launch on PC.
We now have the truly macabre box art for the standard edition featuring a ruined Raccoon City Police Department. It’s wonderful:

Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition
Pre-orders are also available for the two Deluxe Editions, one of which contains a steelbook. The Deluxe Edition contains the following digital items:
– 5 costumes including a Lady Dimitrescu costume for Grace
– 4 weapon skins
– 2 charms
– 2 screen filters which change the game’s colour
– A custom sound pack
– Additional in-game files titled ‘Letters from 1998’ (when the original game is set)

Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Order Bonus
Pre-orders of the Standard Edition will include the Apocalypse costume for Grace that is a nod to the RE movie, Apocalypse:

Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Physical
In news that won’t be welcomed by the Switch 2 physical community, Resident Evil Requiem will be Game-Key Card. Game-Key Cards don’t include the game on the cartridge, rather providing access to users to download the game.
Game-Key Cards have been unpopular with Switch 2 owners who collect physical games since long before the console’s launch. Nintendo Japan had previously surveyed Japanese Switch 2 owners on their thoughts about Game-Key Cards.
As well as Requiem as a standalone title, Capcom will be releasing the modern RE trilogy in the Generation Pack. The Generation Pack includes Requiem as well as the Gold Editions of Resident Evil Biohazard (7) and Resident Evil Village (8).

Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Pro Controller
Accompanying the Switch 2 launch of Requiem is a limited edition Pro Controller. It looks very much like the standard Pro Controller with some text and graphics related to the game over the front. In the US the controller retails for $99.99 USD.

Resident Evil Requiem Amiibo
Whilst we don’t have any images yet, Capcom have confirmed an Amiibo of Requiem’s protagonist, Grace Ashcroft will be releasing after the initial launch. The Requiem Amiibo will arrive in summer next year.

So that’s everything announced for Resident Evil Requiem’s launch, for now. I expect we’ll be hearing a lot more about the game in the run up to launch.
