Wonderland Kazakiri Inc., the Akihabara-based Japanese indie developer behind voxel-style games Block Quest Master and Dunegeon Gravestone, has found a publisher for its upcoming puzzle RPG Cassette Boy.
The developer has teamed up with Pocketpair Publishing, the Japanese publisher behind 2024’s controversial mega-hit Palworld, as well as smaller projects like the horror FMV game Dead Take, which was developed by Surgent Studios and released earlier this year.
Pocketpair Publishing took to social media to share the announcement. Subsequently, it was reposted by their other games’ accounts, highlighting the demo for Cassette Boy, which we included in the GSC Demo Disc #4 for April.
Check out the new Publisher Announcement trailer below.
Cassette Boy is a voxel-based puzzle RPG where what you can’t see doesn’t exist! Based on Einstein’s theories on Quantum Mechanics, players explore a 3D world from a fixed perspective, creating the illusion of a 2D world. By shifting perspective, parts of the world will come into existence as others disappear. Add a visual style that draws on the original Nintendo Game Boy, and we think we’re looking at a future Indie darling!
Some of us here at the GSC have really enjoyed what we have played of Cassette Boy, and have spotted it at both the London Games Festival and Gamescom this year. We hope that this new partnership with Pockatpair will provide all the support the team at Wonderland Kazakiri Inc. will need.

Cassette Boy is planned to be released on PC (Steam) in 2025, but there is no fixed date as of yet. Check back here at the GSC for future updates.
