These days it may feel like everything indie is a roguelite, and perhaps there is some truth to that. However, it’s all truly about how you choose to stand out in the world of roguelites. Snow Leaf Studios is looking to make themselves stand out with their upcoming release Brew which will now release on November 6th.
Brew sells itself as an “an action-packed roguelite that emphasizes quick thinking and resource management in the midst of battle”. You’ll gather ingredients and create different potions to either boost you, affect others, or change the environment around you. You’re a budding alchemist and the top of the Alchemy Exam (and perhaps the Tower) is your goal when you jump into Brew. Create potions that match your play style while also unlocking badges, character skills, and secret rooms. The developers at Snow Leaf Studios promise you will feel like a true alchemy student during your time with Brew.

Of course, time an the academy isn’t all just about the potions you can create. Throughout the game, you’ll also get to meet your classmates and the faculty. The Steam description also alludes to a bit of romance stating “You might even find that special someone”.
Brew has been a project that Snow Leaf Studios has been working on since Fall 2021 and they are ready to share with the world. Although to be fair, they were also ready to share with the world last month, but slightly delayed the release. If you think the blame is on Silksong, well, you’d be wrong. The development team is not blaming anyone, although they did not want to release on the same day as Hades II. Understandable for a team that says Hades was some of the inspiration for their potion roguelite.
Brew is releasing November 6th on Steam and Epic. The demo is currently available if you can’t wait to become this potion brewing mouse. We’ve been looking forward to this one for quite some time. We covered it in July’s demo disc and now have been patiently waiting. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Snow Leaf Studios and Brew. Will this be a game you’ll be picking up?
