Another Game Pass stealth drop has come in the form of Pacific Drive, announced during the Autumn Galaxies Showcase. The survival game set in a fictionalized version of the Olympic Peninsula launched last year on PlayStation and PC and now gets its Xbox release.
Developed by Ironwood Studios, the game proved to be popular, selling over 1 million units within its first year. Its gameplay involves exploring the Olympic Peninsula after an experiment gone wrong rendered it inhospitable.
You traverse either on foot or with a station wagon as you scavenge for resources or encounter anomalies, some of which can be hostile towards you or do things such as scramble the controls of your car, although some will help you as well. There are also other aspects of gameplay, such as some areas being irradiated or being shrouded in darkness, and ever-decreasing safe zones as the game goes on.

When it launched last year, the game was well received, noted for being an interesting take on the survival genre and praised for its characters, vehicle system, and overall atmosphere. In our review, we have it an impressive 9, saying “Pacific Drive is an amazing game, with at times a beautiful but dangerous setting, great story, and a kick ass station wagon.”
It’s good that Xbox players get to try the game out now and its a solid add to the diversity of the Game Pass lineup.
Pacific Drive is available now on Xbox Series platforms and PC and available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
