The PlayStation Plus lineup for October is here and in keeping with the theme for this time of year, it’s pretty spooky, highlighted by a couple of PlayStation console exclusives.

Of course the big highlight here is Silent Hill 2. The remake of the 2001 classic, developed by Bloober Team was one of last year’s best games. In our review we gave it a 10 which is certainly saying something.
Another remake, Until Dawn also joins the service. While it didn’t do quite as well with critics it is still a solid game to enjoy and likely should be on any horror fans radar, especially this time of year. Perhaps those waiting for Supermassive’s next game that recently got delayed, Directive 8020, this will tie them over.
Outside of the horror games we got some decent arrivals if the genre isn’t your thing. V Rising is a solid title and fits the Halloween theme being a vampire game and all.
In our review we gave it an 8 saying “V Rising has a lot to offer, from survival mechanics to a great vampire simulator. Like all survival games it is a substantial grind to experience everything the castle building has to offer, so I would recommend changing some of the setting to reduce the time it takes.”
As Dusk Falls and Yakuza: Like A Dragon are also here and great titles, though a bit older than the others mentioned so there’s a decent chance you may have already played them.
Overall it’s a very solid month for the subscription service. We will see what they have to offer next month. For now, try not to get too scared!
