Use Battlefield 6: Unlock the Sidearm Savant Achievement / Trophy Guide to get the mission-specific achievement / trophy on the fourth mission, Night Raid

Battlefield 6 is finally with us, and much hooraying has been done in the shooter community. After a successful beta, and positive engagement with the community, it truly seems like Battlefield 6 is a return to form!

With it comes a fully fledged multiplayer, and campaign. With it many a collectible and level specific activities to top up your gamerscore and trophy cabinet, so let’s dive in!

Battlefield 6: Unlock the Sidearm Savant Achievement / Trophy Guide

The “Sidearm Savant” achievement / trophy can be unlocked on the fourth level of the campaign, “Night Raid”. The concept is pretty easy, but just in case, here are some top tips to make sure you succeed.

To unlock the Sidearm Savant achievement / trophy you must complete the whole mission using only pistols, knives, or gadgets.

That means:

No machine guns, snipers, shotguns, or any other type of weapon.
You can have them in your hand, but don’t fire them!
It can be done with just your pistol, outside of the few scripted takedowns. Don’t worry about using other bits of equipment, just in case.
You can use throwing knives.
You can use takedowns with your knife.
Use your “Engage” command with your squad, they’ll target enemies aplenty.
You CAN use the RPG at the end of the level to take out the helicopter. Just be careful, when switching between the RPG and your weapon, you’ll likely pull out your other non-pistol weapon. Just be careful not to fire it and swap to your pistol to take out the enemies in between the helicopter being open to attack.
There’s plenty of ammo crates around. During most of the mission, one of your squad members will come to resupply you if you’re running low too.
If you need a good place to hold up during the second wave of enemies (when you move back after the helicopter initially returns). Head to the back and look for some stone arches; it’s a bit of a corridor, and the enemies can only come towards you (see image below).

Once you’ve defeated the helicopter, the achievement / trophy should pop as the next cutscene appears.

And that’s it, achievement / trophy unlocked! Now you’re on your way soldier!

It should also be noted that a lot of players are saying this glitched on them. If you are sure you completed the task and it didn’t unlock then it seems if you reload last checkpoint that will work. You can also “reload chapter” from the main menu.
