Cecil Stedman Confirmed Playable for Invincible VS

It’s been a couple months since Invincible VS – announced at the last Xbox Games Showcase – showed off a character. That changed today however as in an unexpected reveal, it’s confirmed that Cecil Stedman, the pragmatic and morally ambiguous direct of the GDA will be playable.

Cecil being playable wasn’t someone people really expected since he’s one of the few prominent characters in the show and comics that is only a normal human and a fairly old one at that. While unexpected however, Cecil’s addition isn’t unwelcome as his gameplay looks fun and it looks like he’ll be a zoner/puppet character mix. His attacks involve him using heavy weapons mixed with alot of teleports as well as the re-animen being deployed to help him control space. He looks similar to how Deadpool played in marvel vs Capcom as well as nappa in Dragonball Fighterz who used the saibamen as part of his gameplay.

Cecil being added also helps alleviate the concerns that too many of the characters would play too similar to one another given many of their similar power sets.

Cecil joins Omni Man and Battle Beast in Invincible VS which is shaping up to have an impressive roster of fighters.

No official date yet for Invincible VS but a 2026 release is still being planned for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series platforms.
