During last nights Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio Direct, the SEGA studio confirmed a number of new Yakuza projects including Yakuza 0 Director's Cut coming to new platforms and more.
But probably the biggest announcement from the Direct is that Yakuza 3 will be receiving the full Kiwami remake treatment, alongside a brand-new adventure titled Dark Ties.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will be launching on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 & 5 and PC (Steam) on February 12 2026. Digital pre-orders are available now and physical pre-orders will open in the coming days.
Dark Ties acts as a separate game. Either it or Kiwami 3 can be played from the start.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 features
In the ground-up "˜extreme remake' of Yakuza 3, there will be whole range of changes to the game to bring it to modern standards. The game is being remade in the Dragone Engine and "˜reimagined combat'.
The game will feature full English and Japanese voiceover.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 mini-games
As always with the series, there will be some wacky mini-games and side content. The Morning Glory Orphanage activities include cooking, fishing, bug catching and more.
Dark Ties
Dark Ties is the all-new content that will launch with Yakuza Kiwami 3, the new tale of Yoshitaka Mine. A synopsis of the story details: "In 2007, Yoshitaka Mine launched a startup and led it to success - only to be betrayed by a trusted partner and lose everything. Wandering the streets with no destination, he witnesses a brutal clash between yakuza factions".
Between Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties, "Two men will walk different paths that converge to shake the very foundations of fate."
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Deluxe Edition
A Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will launch with a Deluxe Edition, which includes the following:
