There are a total of 12 Trophies to unlock in Baby Steps, typically in an attempt to test your patience as you gather items and painfully take steps towards its delivery. Often, the goal of achieving the trophy is simple, but everything seems to be out of your reach.
Since Baby Steps is an open world with no maps, it’s also a game with several ways to reach the objective: take the direct, yet difficult and dangerous route, or the much longer, but safer route. It’s important to pay attention and take note of interesting landmarks. This is what we’ll use in order to help you get through these objectives.
Check out our Baby Steps Review for our full thoughts on the game.
World’s Best Dad
Here is our guide for the World’s Best Dad trophy, which asks you to return the favorite cup to the World’s Best Dad. It isn’t just a normal coffee cup; it’s actually a trophy, and achieving this feat will certainly make you feel like you’ve truly won something in life (but no, sadly, it is still just video games).

Lost: My Cup, at the Carnival. Bring to the Firetower
You’ll first encounter the goal for this World’s Best Dad trophy as you follow along the main path. At this point in the game, you don’t really know what you’re re supposed to (who does?), except to trudge along slowly towards anything.
See that cart in the distance? Head towards there, have a chat with the shoe seller, and you’ll also start to see some carnival-type items like a carousel horse and the top of a merry-go-round thing (you can even get a helicopter hat there).

From where you are, you should be able to see the Ferris wheel. Once you get closer, you should also be able to see a wooden, brown wagon with the word “CUP” and an arrow pointing upwards.

Go around the wagon, climbing up the rock behind it. Shimmy your way around this area using the thin, light-grey ledge until you get to a bigger landing.
This will be your main difficulty in getting the trophy.

TIPS:
- Planting both feet helps stabilize you, so making decisive steps is important.
- Get one foot at a time to this small ledge in the image above until you’re able to plant both.
- Whenever you fall, just let it happen. The sooner you stop moving, the sooner he attempts to get back up.
- Focus on getting your right foot up first, aiming to the right side, and quickly take a step with your left foot.
To the Firetower! But First, Taste Some Wax
Don’t be a silly butt like me and attempt to reach the Firetower using a direct route. This will only end in sadness, and you run the risk of losing the trophy down the mountain (which I’ve done, luckily, it doesn’t despawn, you just have to pick it back up again.
Your goal:
Make your way to the 1st checkpoint that looks like a giant candle

Again, this will look like the wrong way, but heading towards the candle checkpoint will be the safest way to go. Once you see this map, you should be able to see the candle/checkpoint from here.

Last Stop, Some Other Places, THEN the Firetower!
Once you reach the checkpoint (and taste the candle, for some reason), you’ll regain control of Nate. When you do, continue past it, head left, and follow a safe-ish linear path upwards the mountain until you have an opportunity to make a left.
Head left here

Hug this wall, heading left, until you come across a stream. Follow the stream up and cross this bridge.

Follow this linear path, again, with the goal of “left towards the fire tower”. You’ll know you’re heading in the right direction once you see this arched structure with water on your feet.

From here on out, is easy (ish, since nothing is really easy in this game). But it’s easy in a way that it’s linear. Once you go through this little arched, cave thing, you’ll see some red rocks with muddy footing. Head downwards until you see a “river”of mud with a red box on the other side. Go that way!

You’re nearly there! Once you see this slightly fenced area, you’re on the home stretch! Make your way, finally, towards the Firetower!
