Palworld Getting Farming Spinoff With Palworld: Palfarm

Last week, Pocketpair was teasing that they had some new games in the works. Today they have announced one of those games and it is definitely not something you would have expected in the form of a cozy farming game.

Palworld: Palfarm will allow players to work alongside their favourite Pals to turn their farm into a full functioning, living world in either solo or multiplayer play. Meet and befriend locals for story arcs, delegate which Pals do what and round up your harvest.

Additionally your farm will be attacked by other Pals, meaning you will need to have your Pals leveled up and ready to defend it. It is an interesting spin on the cozy farming simulator genre as Pocketpair continues to blend very popular games and make it their own.

While the developer and publisher is Pocketpair, it is a separate team from the Palworld team. Currently there is no release date for the game and the only planned platform is PC.

Palworld took the world by storm in January 2024 quickly selling 8 million units in its first 6 days. By February it had sold over 15 million all while in early access. While the game blew up it has had its controversy. Nintendo has sued Pocketpair claiming Palworld is too much like their legendary Pokemon franchise. That lawsuit is still in the courts.

However that turns out, Pocketpair is full steam ahead with their own massive franchise as it is set to launch Palworld 1.0 next year as well as now having this Palfarm spinoff. It will be interesting to see how Nintendo reacts to this now.
