Fortnite Announces Daft Punk Experience In-Game Event

For the past week Epic Games has been teasing something related to the French house duo Daft Punk coming to Fortnite. Now, it appears that Daft Punk is getting a full island dedicated to them. Epic has announced a “Daft Punk Experience” that will be launching in Fortnite on September 27.

Daft Punk were a French electronic band that began in 1995 by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Since then they have gone on to become one of the most influential acts in the genre. They are easily recognizable by their robot helmets, which they have worn since the release of their second album Discovery, but most famously during their massive Alive 2007 world tour. In 2021, the duo announced their split eight years after the release of their last album, Random Access Memories.

Epic Games has very quickly clarified that this does not indicate a reunion for the band. Daft Punk will be making their way to Fortnite in the form of a full-on Daft Punk Experience in-game event. During this event players will be able to remix the duo’s music, make a LEGO music video for Around the World, blast robots in the “Robot Rock Arena”, and more. All of this will lead up to a big afterparty that will be revealed down the line.

Furthermore, thirty-one tracks band’s discography will be available in the game to coincide with this. For fans, this likely means there will be plenty of new songs as part of Fortnite Festival. A Daft Punk bundle will be available from the in-game shop from September 25. The bundle will allow fans to buy skins of the band representing their different robot designs throughout the years, furniture items for LEGO Fortnite, and more.

As for how long the Daft Punk Experience will last, Epic Games has not yet confirmed. However the blog post mentions that it will be around “for a while”. The Daft Punk Experience will launch on September 27 at 2pm EST, so get in while it’s there because it’s unlikely to return.
