Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was revealed back in June and since then fans of the series have been waiting for more exciting details. With the game releasing in November and a beta on the way, it was only a matter of time until more information was shared. Today, we received quite a multiplayer reveal for this next entry into the series.
Maps
The trailer shows that there will be 18 multiplayer maps available at launch. This is more than Black Ops 6 provided on launch so already this gives players something to look forward to. Six of these maps will be available on a staggered release schedule throughout the Black Ops 7 Beta. Those who have been with the series from quite some time may also notice three maps returning from Black Ops 2. The current list of maps as shared by the Call of Duty Blog are:
Core 6v6 Maps
- Blackheart (Beta)
- Cortex (Beta)
- Exposure (Beta)
- Imprint (Beta)
- The Forge (Beta)
- Toshin (Beta)
- Colossus
- Den
- Flagship
- Homestead
- Paranoia
- Retrieval
- Scar
- Express (Returning from Black Ops 2)
- Hijacked (Returning from Black Ops 2)
- Raid (Returning from Black Ops 2)
Skirmish Maps:
- Mission: Edge
- Mission: Tide
That’s right, there are also Skirmish maps that will be quite large hosting 20 v 20 and you’ll get to dive into these on launch.
The trailer also highlights that there will be 30 Launch Weapons, Next-Level Omnimovement, Weapon Build Sharing & Weapon Prestige, and 20+ Brutal Score streaks. If you’re like me, you may understand what launch weapons means but may be getting tripped by that Omnimovement feature. What is being improved in Black Ops 7 multiplayer?
Omnimovement Improvements

In Black Ops 7 you’ll have more ways to traverse the maps. There will be areas in multiplayer where you can jump around and chain up to three wall jumps together. This may allow you to find a different way to take down your opponents, gain a tactical advantage from a higher vantage point, or even distract your opponents. The blog does state you can perfect your wall jumps in multiplayer training so this may be quite a difficult task to master early on.
They’ve also improved the tactical sprint and the Body Shield mechanic for those who enjoyed this. Instead of just using them as cover, you can now also make them a human grenade. Yes, stuff a grenade on them and shove them forward for maximum efficiency. Just another tactic you can master in the multiplayer training.
So Much More
There is going to be so much more to dive into when Black Ops 7 comes out. Players will need to hit Military Level 55 to begin Prestige leveling should they chose to as it is not required. There are 10 levels to climb through and the game promises “additional Prestige Master Titles and Colors at regular intervals throughout your Level 1000 grind, to further showcase your prowess.”

There will also be weapon prestige returning Black Ops 4. This will also be available across multiple modes for players to work through. There will be many ways and options for players to continue the grind throughout the game so prepare for lots of content with this upcoming release.
