Nintendo Direct Announced for September 12, 2025

Nintendo has announced that they will be having a Nintendo Direct presentation on Friday, September 12th. As is pretty normal with Nintendo, we don’t have any insight on what Nintendo will share. Although we do know there may be many hopes for gaming reveals on Friday.

The news came by way of the Nintendo Today app. For those who might recall, Nintendo Today brings you updates from Nintendo based on your likes. Let’s face it, who doesn’t love the idea of a Nintendo Direct to lead into the weekend?

The Nintendo Direct is scheduled to run approximately 60 minutes and provide information on upcoming titles for both the Switch and Switch 2. If you feel like we’ve seen quite a few Nintendo Directs this year, you may be right. This year we’ve seen Partner showcases and a Direct specifically for the launch of Nintendo Switch 2. Following after the Switch 2 Direct we also saw showcases for Mario Kart: World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kirby Air Riders.

So what should we look forward to with this upcoming direct? We know there are still a few big releases for Nintendo before 2025 is over. Will fans get a release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond? Perhaps we will also get more information on Pokemon Legends: Z-A which is due to release October 16th. Of course, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros perhaps we’ll get some news on a new Mario game? The anniversary is the following day after all.

This game is real right?

We know from July’s partner direct that there are a few games due out to release the next few months, so will we also see more on these titles? One guess could be more information on Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. During the partner direct a winter release was mentioned. Will this mean before the end of 2025 or will we be waiting into the cold months of 2026?

You can watch the Direct on YouTube or on the Nintendo Today app if you’ve previously installed it. Let us know if you’ll be watching the Nintendo Direct. And if you will be, what are you looking forward to?
