Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s first major DLC has arrived. With The Order Of Giants comes a new adventure for Indy to go out on and of course it comes with it new collectibles, puzzles, achievements and more! This guide will help you get through the first missions Serpent Puzzle.
Once you head down the long winding stairs you will come to the Serpent Puzzle. You will see water cascading down and a bunch of spots where water can flow. Some of these spots can be turned using a type of large key, the Serpent Wrench, thats at the end of the puzzle. Grab it and take it to the first spot just north of where the water is flowing (towards the exit door) from where you came in and turn it 3 times. This will lift a platform.
You can then remove the key from that spot and go to the one directly to the right of where the water is flowing and turn it so that the water is flowing into it and upwards to the snake above.
Take the key out and move to that above snake and turn it so that it is connected to the flowing water of the below one and towards the right. If done correctly this will raise another platform.
Take the key once again and return to the snake to the immediate right of the water that is cascading down. Turn it twice so that the water is now flowing the opposite way and take the key again to spot behind this one. Turn the key twice so that the water flows to the left and raises yet another platform.
Remove the key once again and looking at where the water is flowing take it to the spot 2 snakes over to the left, turning the key twice to raise the final platform.
Unfortunately the last platform will get stuck once you do this as the chain will break. In order to fix it you will have to climb up onto the first platform you raised. Follow the broken snake around to find a pole you can whip across.
Once on the other side you should see the piece that is stuck which you can pull out with your whip. Now safely return to the main level and continue.
Lastly take the key to the spot directly above the flowing water once more and turn it so the water is flowing to the left. Take the key and turn the left snake so that the water will flow upwards and then take the key one last time to that above snake and turn it so the water will flow to the right.
If done right this will make the water run all the way to the door, unlocking it and allowing you to continue.

trying to raise 4th grate, which is the 3rd one in your guide. got all the others raised. this last on is raising a foot off the ground and then falling down over and over, like the mechanism is broke. thought it was part of the puzzle, but you don’t mention this in your guide. indy even said “hm, i wonder why that one is broken”… Have not been able to figure it out. anyone get to this point as well? part of the game or glitch?
That is strange. I’d say it’s a glitch but Indy saying something makes it seem like it isn’t. Perhaps they need to be done in order, not sure how you’d reset it though.
Same with me- gate lifting about a foot off the ground- all other gates lifted . Also – there is a small opening high above it with sparks coming out- with a lever – by jumping on the other raised gates Indy can see that it has a target on it – but can’t activate it with his whip- also when water flows into holes with gold around them – it will release latches on large door- but I cannot get water to all 4 to release the 4 latches.
not a glitch – the mechanism for that 4th plate is indeed broken and needs to be fixed. climb up the plates as high as you can and look up to see if you can fix anything.
Huh I guess either I got lucky with a glitch or they patched something in. Either way I’ve hopefully updated it to be accurate. Appreciate the help.
Thanks Danno and asdf for the info. I didn’t even think to look up, when Indy commented about the platform being broken and needing a fix. My son helped me figure this one out last night, when he was able to jump on the platforms, then on to the snake and then around the wall on the snakes body. When we saw that platform sticking out from the upper wall, we noticed the whip dot/button. Def stumped us for awhile. Good puzzle for sure. Thanks for updated this help article as i am sure more will be stumped.
