After a successful online stress test for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Sega has announced that later this month a demo will go live on PC and console for the hotly anticipated arcade racer.
While no specific date is given, Sega says the demo will come “mid-September” and will be single player only. While the stress test included multiplayer fans that want to enjoy the game with AI will have their chance with said demo. With the game scheduled to release at the end of the month on September 25th it won’t leave fans with too much time inbetween the demo and release.

By all the chatter online after this weekends stress test its looking like CrossWorlds will be a can’t miss title for arcade racing fans. As a huge fan of the last Team Sonic Racing that released back in 2019, I personally can’t wait to jump into a new Sonic Racing game.
We also know that CrossWorlds will be expanding its playable characters to outside the Sonic realm. Players will get to race with Joker, Spongebob, Ichiban and many other beloved Sega characters. It should add a unique feel to CrossWorlds as typcial Sonic Racing games just stuck with the classics. More are expected to join the game later as well.
With 24 tracks, 15 “CrossWorlds” and so much more, content won’t be light in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. It’s also a major step up in the franchise in terms of cost. Here in Canada it is now a $99.99 title physically, and its $69.99USD on Steam.
Did you hop into the network test? Will you be playing the demo later this month before it’s September 25th release? Let us know in the comments!
