With the August PlayStation Plus games going live today we also get to learn the bad thing when it comes to subscription services as titles come and go. We now know that 8 games will be departing the service next month.
Games Leaving PlayStation Plus
- UFC 5 (PS5)
- Night In The Woods (PS5, PS4)
- The Plucky Squire (PS5)
- Road 96 (PS5, PS4)
- Pistol Whip (PSVR2)
- Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir (PS4)
- F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch (PS5, PS4)
- Dragon’s Crown Pro (PS4)
All 8 titles will leave the service on September 16th, and while the list may lack mass appeal it certainly has a lot of quality.
The Plucky Squire was pretty hyped as an indie when it released and it didn't disappoint. In our review last year we gave it a 9 saying "The Plucky Squire may not be very hard but that's a small drawback due to how charming and fun the game is overall. An enjoyable story, great visuals, fun and varied gameplay and a colorful cast of characters make this another great example of the creativity indie game developers often bring to the table."
F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch was part of Sony's China Hero Project and was a PlayStation exclusive for some time. A highly rated metroidvania, F.I.S.T will take some time to get through so if you are planning to get it done before it leaves you will want to start soon.
The highest profile game on the list is probably UFC 5. While not for everyone, the UFC games are quite popular and sports fans will surely be disappointed to see it leave.
Luckily for those disappointed about these titles leaving, the games joining the service today are quite good. With games like Mortal Kombat 1, Spider-Man and day 1 addition Sword Of The Sea, there will plenty of A grade options.
