Claymatic Games have finally revealed that Platypus Reclayed has a release date and its sooner than you may have expected. The claymation shooter is a full remake of the original Platypus that released 23 whole years ago.
Earlier this year we were lucky enough we caught up with the game's creator Anthony Flack for a GSC exclusive interview. Flack was kind enough to share his experiences of bringing the game back after all these years explain why they're bringing the game to multiple platforms at launch.
Finally, after quite the wait we have a release date for the game. Platypus Reclayed will release on Steam, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4/5 on September 18.

If you're not familiar with Platypus, it's a side scrolling shooter from the early 2000's which is built completely in clay. An adorable art style, great shooting mechanics and co-operative play bring the fun. The game is rebuilt in 4K with all new clay models - bosses, weapons and more - as well as widescreen support.
Personally, Platypus is a game from my childhood and it has been on my radar ever since seeing it for the first time at London Games Fest earlier this year, and became a top-5 of the show for me. The Platypus reclayed demo I played in London is also available for all now via Steam.
You can wishlist on Steam now and find the developers on X or Bluesky. You can also join their Discord where development progress is being shared as well as an insight into bringing the "˜claymatian' to life.
Whilst I can't wait to see the game reborn, are there more of you out there that loved the original too? Let us know in the comments below and stick with GSC for more on Platypus Reclayed closer to launch.
