Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree Comes to Switch in September

If there's enough of any variety of game already available on Nintendo Switch, it's Metroidvanias (oh, and cosy farming games). However, if you're still looking for an extra fix then there's a solid new release on the horizon for next month as Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree Comes to Switch on 4 September 2025.

The game previously released on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and PC earlier this year in April and we quite liked the game in our review, saying it "is a visually impressive and narratively engaging action RPG that melds Metroidvania exploration with Soulslike combat mechanics well", though there were technical and design issues. Developers Primal Game Studio have continued to work on the game since launch rectifying issues from the community.

Mandragora is a game that brings the challenge, with Soulslike combat a core part of the experience. Grotesque characters to take on with melee and dodging mechanics; six character classes to choose from and a meaty skill tree, the RPG elements are part of the Mandragora DNA.

If you're planning to start Mandragora on Switch when it comes out be sure to check out our guides for finding the Queen of Smiles and The End of The Road achievement / trophy; as well the Tremors achievement / trophy.
