Some fans will get a chance to try Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls as it was announced that the game will have a closed beta on Playstation 5 from September 5th-7th. Some people got to try the game a bit at EVO over this weekend and had positive things to say about the game, but that was only in short bursts as there were lines for it as well as the other unreleased fighters.

It’ll be great to see what players think after being able to get their hands on the game. 6 playable characters are known so far. Iron Man, Captain America, Storm, Dr. Doom, Star Lord and Ms. Marvel. Perhaps Arc Sys will reveal a couple more characters between now and then and have them playable within the beta.
After the deep dive on its gameplay as well as some players getting hands on time with it, the hype surrounding Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls keeps getting higher and higher. It’s been a long time since Marvel has been in the fighting game space and the last time, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite left a lot to be desired by many fans. While it takes some inspiration from it however, Tokon isn’t trying to be or replace Marvel vs Capcom and just do it’s own thing. It’s more than looking like it’ll be able on its own.
A link to sign up for the closed beta can be found here.
Hopefully a beta for PC or both platforms is planned soon as well as an open beta to put the netcode through its paces, although arc sys has shown netplay is not a problem for them anymore. No official date for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls but it’s planned for a 2026 release.
