A couple of years after the first game got a remake, Pac-Man World 2 is also getting the same treatment. Originally released back in 2002 for the Generation 6 consoles, Pac-Man World 2 was considered a solid platformer for its era, much like the first game was.
Re-pac was a pretty good update to the first game, as on top of a great visual upgrade, it also updated the games more frustrating aspects of the controls. Re-pac 2 looks to be taking things a step even further, as on top of what’s expected in a standard remake or remaster, the game will be adding new features such as a co-op mode where a second player takes control of a Pac drone that fires pellets at enemies and can absorb others for Pac-Man.

Other new features include unlocking various costumes for Pac-Man to wear in-game (I’m rocking the cowboy) and a figure viewer for the game’s various characters. Quality of life changes to the gameplay are also present, such as a target on the ground when Pac-Man does his bounce attack.

I played through Pac-Man World Re-pac and found it to be pretty enjoyable and I think the sequel will prove to be fun as well, just based on the trailer.
Pac-Man World Re-pac 2 is set to launch on September 26th, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
