We got a glimpse back in early June of what Cronos: The New Dawn‘s gameplay will look like. But outlets are getting their hands on the preview and we’ve learned a lot from their 2 hours with the game.
In Cronos: The New Dawn, you will play as a character known as the Traveler. You will explore fallen worlds and time travel to different eras to gather human souls.
Bloober Team found their footing
So, what can you expect? Based off of what some of the previewer’s are saying, Bloober Team found their footing after Silent Hill 2. They praised the game for its original spin on horror and some even said it gave them Resident Evil 2 vibes.
The combat of the game will require you to think carefully as ammunition will be scarce. The terrifying enemies in this game can morph with the ones you have already killed. So kill with caution. The fights will continue to grow more and more difficult.
You will be constantly rewarded for mainlining the game as well as doing side quests. As you play, you will be able to upgrade your suit and weapons inside safe rooms, where you will also find storage boxes, and save points. Similar to Resident Evil.
The game will take you about 16 hours to beat and even longer if you want to experience everything the game has to offer. It will also feature multiple endings. The endings wont be your standard, “good” or “bad” endings. Which is a relief to players who get stressed by those kinds of things. (me, I’m the one that stresses about those things.).
The more that we learn about this game, the more there is to get excited about. Are you as excited as we are? Is the multiple endings a good thing in your eyes? Let us know in the comments!
Cronos: The New Dawn is set to release in Fall of 2025 and will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5, and PC.
