Killing Floor 3 Weapon Mod Crafting Guide & All Weapon Mod Achievements

The Killing Floor franchise has returned with Killing Floor 3 bringing a new flair to the Zed killing. The game follows the same formula as the second so fans should be familiar. One thing that is quite different however is the games achievement list. Gone are the collectible based achievements and instead we have a much simpler list. This guide will help you understand the crafting system and unlock all the weapon mod achievements, In Mod We Trust, Smooth Upgrader and Maximalist.

First thing that you will need to know is that everything you unlock is done so through the stronghold which is essentially your hub before missions. Whether its your skill perks or weapon mods, everything you need is done here. For anything to do with your weapons you want to head to the armory which is in a separate room off the main hub.

Crafting & Upgrading Explained

Once at the armory and you load it up you will see many options. You can create loadouts here and add and change attachments to the guns you want. This includes everything from ammo type, sights, magazine sizes and more. There is also an option to craft new weapon mods here which will make your guns much more powerful and better to use.

The catch with both crafting and upgrading is that you need specific parts to create the mods and to upgrade them. You gain those parts by playing missions and earning them naturally by killing Zeds, destroying security cameras and other means. You can see the full chart below explaining what each part is needed for and how to obtain them.

As you can see many items can drop from the same Zeds, so its a bit random as to what you will get, but this gives you an idea of what you will need.

Weapon Mod Achievements

Now that you understand the weapon mod crafting system, we can focus on the 3 weapon mod achievements.

In Mod We Trust

This one is the simplest of the achievements and you will obtain it by crafting your first weapon mod. Select whichever one you think you need most and craft it once you have the right items.

Smooth Upgrader

For Smooth Upgrader, you need to upgrade one of the mods one time. After you’ve created the mod for In Mod We Trust, you can simply go back to that attachment, select it and upgrade it once you have enough parts. Make sure you are selecting the actual mod and not moving over to crafting again or you will create a second mod rather than upgrade it.

Maximalist

Lastly we have the Maximalist achievement which is for upgrading a mod to its maximum tier. Each weapon mod has 3 tiers (4 if you want to include its base version). Simply upgrade any mod 3 times and you will unlock this achievement. This will be the most difficult of the 3 but overall none of them are that difficult to obtain and just take some time playing the game.
