Frostpunk 2 has been given a release date for consoles. The follow up to the city building survival sim which saw you maintain a city during a brutal volcanic winter is set to launch in September, almost a full year after the PC release. Even more big news is confirmed that the game will be a day 1 game pass title when it launches.

Frostpunk 2 saw a PC release last year, opening to pretty positive reviews much like the first game did. Frostpunk 2 offers a unique blend of city building and survival. The games have become known for presenting you with morally gray decisions in order to ensure the survival of your citizens. Of course, their survival isn’t enough. At the same time you have to ensure the citizens don’t become too upset or chaos may erupt within the city. You have to figure out how to design your city in the best way possible while also maintaining the politics as certain citizens may not be to happy if foreign policies are adopted after talking with other factions within the game.
The game is set to launch on game pass on September 18th, 2025. PlayStation players will also see a release on the same day. The game is already available on PC. In case you missed it, you can check out our review of the PC version here.
