Wander Stars, the anime-inspired turn-based RPG from Venezuela-based Paper Castle Games, has been delayed, only weeks before its original release date of August 1st.

The developers announced the delay and the new release date of September 19th via social media and have updated the Wander Stars Steam page.

The Paper Castle team did not shy away from their reasons for delaying Wander Stars, highlighting player feedback as their reason for the decision.

“We truly value every bit of feedback and ideas that you have shared with us, but it has also made it very clear that we need more time to truly deliver the game we wanted to make from the start.”

Issues with the game’s UI, bugs during combat, and a need for rebalancing appear to be the main complaints from players. So the developers have pushed the launch back to give themselves more time to work on the game without burning themselves out in the process.

Wander Stars is a turn-based RPG starring Ringo, a young martial artist searching for her brother, and Wolfe, a mysterious figure running from his past. This unlikely duo must collect all the pieces of the Wanderstar Map and explore their universe across 10 “episodes”.

During turn-based combat, create custom attacks by combining words up to the limit of your spirit level. The more spirit you have, the more slots you have to place words into and the more powerful and complex actions you can take. With over 200 words to collect, there’s almost no limit to the attacks you can create!

Wander Stars is now releasing on PC(Steam) and Nintendo Switch on September 19th, 2025.
