More Lollipop Chainsaw Projects Are on the Way

Tokyo based developer, Dragami Games have confirmed they've entered a new partnership with Taiwan-based investment business, Nada Holdings to develop a variety of Lollipop Chainsaw projects.

Lollipop Chainsaw is a cult-classic from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era which sees players control zombie-smashing cheerleader, Juliet Starling who is voiced by Tara Strong. The game originally released back in 2012 and went on to sell 1m copies. A remaster, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was released last year reinvigorating interest in the long-dormant franchise.

The game was co-directed by legendary developer, Suda51 who has created many other cult-titles including No More Heroes and Killer 7. Suda51 is currently working on new game, Romeo is a Dead Man which featured at June's State of Play.

In a press statement on Nada Holdings' website, the investment company announced: "NADA HOLDINGS CORP. (Headquarters: Taipei, Taiwan; Chairman: Joe Teng, hereinafter "NADA HOLDINGS"), a Taiwanese company specializing in IP investment and development, has entered into a partnership agreement with Dragami Games Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shohei Sato, hereinafter "Dragami Games"). Through this partnership, the two companies will jointly launch multiple new projects based on the zombie action game LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW."

What future projects will come from the IP is yet to be confirmed but a "wide range of new products" will be collaborated on between Dragami Games and its new funder.

So, after 13 years we may finally be seeing some real signs that a Lollipop Chainsaw sequel may become more than a fan dream. Other multi-industry projects may include TV, anime or comic books and we’ll likely hear about those soon.
