Well, that’s three days in a row now that Square Enix has made announcements around the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX. Over the weekend, the publisher announced there would be a FINAL FANTASY IX Music Special Live Stream on July 7th, and yesterday they revealed two game collaborations with PC/Mobile titles Sengoku IXA and Emberstoria. Today, alongside more Final Fantasy IX merch, we got details of a third collaboration for the classic JRPG’s 25th anniversary.
First off, the new FFIX merchandise, most of which was uploaded to the UK Square Enix website. The most interesting addition from this new crop of merch is a FORM-ism figure of the legendary Black Mage Vivi Ornitier, joining the Zidane and Garnet figures announced earlier this year.

The Vivi FORM-ism figure stands at 15cm and is available to pre-order today at £54.99. The release date is scheduled for sometime in April 2026.
Next up is a set of eight circular magnets depicting new illustrative art by Toshiyuki Itahana of the full playable party of FFIX, plus the bonus addition of Mog, one of the Moogles from the game.

Each magnet has a width of 4.4cm and will come individually packaged in blind boxes. At the time of reporting, a display box of eight blind boxes is available to pre-order for £39.99, but Square Enix has clarified that they cannot guarantee that each display box will contain one of each design.
Following the magnets, we have a sticker pack containing 4 individual stickers, each one a different pairing of the FFIX main cast.

The Final Fantasy IX 25th anniversary sticker set is available to pre-order for £8.99, with the stickers all measuring within the dimensions of 11cm by 9cm. The sticker set releases in January 2026.
After that, we have four keychains, each with the same pairing of characters as the sticker set.

All keychains are acrylic with a depth of 0.8cm, and are priced individually at £7.99. They are available to pre-order and will be released in January alongside the sticker set.
The last two pieces of FFIX 25th anniversary merchandise revealed today were on the Japanese Square Enix store, and the first was a set of clear files featuring illustrations and CGI shots from the game.

These files measure 22cm x 31cm and are sold together as a set for around £6.00. Like the rest, they are available for pre-order now, but the release date is not known.
The final item of new FFIX merch is a sand coloured t-shirt featuring the roman numeral IX on the front and one of the new 25th anniversary illustrations on the back.

The t-shirt is made of a 100% cotton blend, and comes in one size (Length 71cm / Width 52.5cm / Shoulder width 48cm / Sleeve length 20.5cm). It is priced at around £24.00 and is available for pre-order, but currently has no release date.
A third collaboration was also detailed today, and while it may have been announced earlier in the year, we have more details on this eye-catching Final Fantasy IX collab. Zoff, a Japanese specialist eyewear brand, is teaming up with Square Enix to release a range of sunglasses inspired by FFIX. The series will have 3 sets of eyewear inspired by Zidane, Garnet, and Vivi, respectively. The glasses will come with matching cases and cloth wipes, and we will finally see their designs on the official 25th anniversary, July 7th.

The FFIX x Zoff eyewear range will be available for online purchase from July 7th to August 3rd and will be shipped sequentially from the end of February 2026. A select few Zoff stores will have tr-on corners available. Visit the official Zoff website for more details.

Another day closer to the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX, another merch drop and/or announcement. Square Enix is making a great deal about this particular milestone, and fans of the game are hoping this is all leading to the announcement of the long-rumoured FFIX remake. However, none of this lends credence to the rumours, and we feel it is best to couch our expectations, for our mental wellbeing, if nothing else.
As we have done for the last few months, the GSC team will continue to keep you up to date with the latest news regarding Final Fantasy IX, so check back regularly.
