In Ruffy and the Riverside, the new 3D platformer from Zockrates Labs, there are quite a few different activities spread throughout the world of Riverside, and some can really get the adrenaline going! One such side quest challenges Ruffy to beat the Five Fellows, a group of hay bale racers who like to cheat. Here is our Ruffy and the Riverside – Five Fellows Guide to help you leave those five fools in the dust, and unlock the Little Cheater and Big Cheater achievements.

Five Fellows Race Track
The start of the Five Fellows race track can be found just below the cliff where you enter Central Riverside from Riverside Town.

Approach Roybert the snake in the sign-up booth, and they will explain that this is where you race each one of the Five Fellows, but they have a tendency to cheat. You can try to race them, but it’s impossible to keep up with their suped-up hay bales. So let’s even the playing field a bit!

There are 5 boosters along the race track around Central Riverside, but they are currently all inactive. It is up to you whether you choose to activate them as and when you need them (the races get tougher as you progress), or all at once. With all 5 boosters on, you should have no problem beating the Five Fellows at their own game.
1.
The first booster is right in front of the starting line.

You need to reach a button which is at the back of the cave nearby, with 5 pillars made of stone, wood, and hay in a pool of water.

What you need to do first is use your Swap to change the water to lava. This is done by bringing it over from either the small volcano in the forest path leading to Riverside Town, or the lava geyser to the North in Central Riverside.

Next, you want to change the lower segments of the pillars to flammable textures, like wood and hay, so they will burn down to different heights, creating stairs up to the button.

Jump on the button to power up the first booster.

2.
Follow the race track round into the forest area on the West side of Central Riverside. Near the track, you will spot a tree with a door set into it, and a red crystal next to it. There is a signpost that has a riddle pertaining to the door to give you a clue on what to do.

All you have to do is use your Swap on the red crystal to change the color of the crystal above the door. It will then open, and you can enter.

You will appear on the other side of the tree. Run back round to find that the door is closed again, and there are now two coloured crystals nearby, with two crystals above the door. You have to repeat what you did the first time a further 4 more times, adding an extra colour each time you reappear. Just make sure not to forget what colour each crystal above the door needs to be.

Once all 5 crystals above the door have their colours, the door opens one last time to reveal itself and its contents properly.

Jump on the button to power up the second booster.

3.
The third booster is down the slope at he track’s lowest point, but the button for it is hidden back up near the forest. What you are looking for is a ring of trees around a patch of dirt with a crow standing in it. The crow gives you a clue as to what needs to be done.

In short, you need to use your Swap on one of the red bugs scuttling about in the dirt to change the colour of the ring of trees.

Once all the trees have been swapped to red, the button will appear.

Hitting this button powers on the third booster.

4.
Continue along the race track until you reach the icy area on the East side of Central Riverside. With the shipwreck on your left, turn to the right to find a square area of ice. (You can see the booster’s power lead coming from it.)

Use your Stomp Attack ability above the ice to smash it, making the button accessible.

Jump on the button to power up the fourth booster.

5.
The last booster is near a large structure with pink crystals, built around a pool of quicksand. The button for the last booster is at the back of this structure on the highest tower. The nearby mole, Rudolph, explains that the light lines have been tampered with, and the platforms have sunk into the sand.

What you need to do is use your Swap to change all the lines connecting the crystals around the edge of the structure.

Once all the light lines are lit up and the crystals have power, the platforms will rise out of the quicksand.

However, the platforms are too low to reach the button. You can see several stone blocks on top of each platform.

Use your Swap to change them to wooden crates.

Jump over to the platform and smash the crates. The platform will now rise higher out of the quicksand, no longer weighed down by the blocks. Do the same thing again with the second platform, jumping across once you have swapped the blocks to wooden crates so they can be destroyed.

You should now be able to reach the button.

Hitting the button turns on the fifth and final booster on the race track.

With all 5 boosters now activated, you should have little to no trouble putting the Five Fellows in their place, which is behind you, the champion!

Once you have beaten the Nightrunner, the last and the fastest of the Five Fellows, you will be awarded a Dreamstone as well as will unlock the Little Cheater and Big Cheater achievements for beating the first racer and all 5 racers, respectively.
