Ruffy And The Riverside – Etoi Guide

Ruffy and the Riverside is a 3D platformer bursting with character and strewn with collectibles. The Etoi are a small, furry, and very shy race of creatures that help keep the natural world of Riverside healthy and clean. With the return of Groll, the Etoi are needed now more than ever, and it’s up to Ruffy to find all 30 and return them to the Etoi Sanctuary. So here is our Ruffy and the Riverside Etoi Guide to help you find all these fuzzballs and unlock the I Love Etoi and I Love All Etoi achievements.

Following this guide will also help players unlock the Mushroom Maniac achievement.

Players will want to find all the Etoi, as you need the max number of 30 to complete the Dirty Spots side quest and unlock the Mr. Clean and Clean Countryside achievements.

Riverside Town

1.

Back down at street level, you’ll find a stone pillar puzzle with its solution close by.

Use your Swap to change the stone blocks to wooden crates and smash them to solve the puzzle.

The Etoi will appear.

2.

Head through the main Riverside Town entrance and head to the right. You’ll spot another stone pillar puzzle near a cliff, with its solution on the wall nearby.

Once you’ve solved it, the Etoi will appear.

3.

Head round to the back of Riverside Town to find a large yellow mushroom.

You need to use your Swap to change 15 small mushrooms to yellow like the big Mushroom.

Once all mushrooms have been swapped to yellow, the Etoi will appear.

4.

In the same area as the big yellow mushroom, on the edge of the cliff heading to the Basilica of Besties, is a shaking tree.

Use your Swap to turn it to stone, and the Etoi will appear.

Central Riverside

5.

Just as you enter Central Riverside, turn right and head up the path.

Use your Swap to turn the shaking tree into stone.

6.

Head back down and into Central Riverside. Near the start of the Five Fellows racetrack is Veena’s house.

There is a shaky tree under which Iddi is sitting.

Turn the tree to stone, and the Etoi will appear.

7.

Go West into the castle and find the rear entrance that leads to the Realm of the Dead.

Climb the nearby ladder and turn around to spot another platform.

On the platform is a box with the Etoi hiding inside.

8.

Leave the castle and head to its northern wall.

There is another stone pillar puzzle here, with the solution on the castle wall behind it.

Solve it, and the Etoi will appear.

9.

Nearby is a large blue mushroom. Just like with the yellow mushroom before, you need to Swap all the nearby little mushrooms to blue.

There are 15 small mushrooms to Swap.

Once all the mushrooms are blue, the Etoi will appear.

10.

Go North past the big blue mushroom, near where Silya, the giant turtle’s pond, is located.

You’ll spot another shaking tree. Turn it to stone with your Swap, and the Etoi will appear.

11.

In the middle of Central Riverside, just South of the lava geyser, is a rocky outcrop with a stone pillar puzzle on it.

Solve the puzzle, and the Etoi will appear.

12.

Along the path leading into the crater with the lava geyser is the solution to this stone pillar puzzle, with the pillars above it.

Solve the puzzle, and the Etoi will appear.

13.

To the West of the crater (just North of No.7) is a shaking stone pillar.

Use your Swap to change it to wooden crates, smash it, and the Etoi will appear.

14.

Head over to the pond with the barrel lift to Joboo’s floating island.

Look out for another shaky tree.

Turn it to stone with your Swap, and the Etoi will appear.

You are halfway through our Ruffy and the Riverside Etoi guide. Well done, keep it up!

15.

Head to the icy area on the East side of Central Riverside, go through the cave, and turn left like you are going into the Bale Ranch.

There is a shaky tree on the left.

Use your Swap to turn it to stone, and the Etoi will appear.

Eddler’s Lab & Beach

16.

As you walk down towards the beach and Eddler’s Lab, look out for a shaky tree on the right-hand side.

Turn it to stone with your Swap, and the Etoi will appear.

17.

There is a large red mushroom on the path down to the beach.

You need to Swap 15 small nearby mushrooms to the same colour.

Once all 15 small mushrooms are red, the Etoi will appear.

18.

Near the big red mushroom are two pools of quicksand. Cross them on the circling platforms, and use your Swap to change the arrows on the door.

Behind the door is the solution for a nearby stone pillar puzzle, so remember it!

Head back across the quicksand and climb up the ladder next to them to find the stone pillar puzzle.

Solve it and the Etoi will appear.

19.

Head to the beach, and look at the cliff wall to the right, opposite the crow on the wooden structure. You’ll see a cave blocked with stone blocks.

Swap all the blocks into wooden crates so you can smash your way through. Behind them is another wooden crate you can smash, which hides the Etoi.

20.

Now, head across the water to the island with Eddler’s Lab.

Around the back of it is a stone pillar sticking out of the sand.

Swap it to wooden crates and smash it to reveal the Etoi.

Bale Farm

21.

Run down the path to the Bale Farm and turn left.

The Etoi is hiding in the crate behind the stands.

22.

Cross the race course and head up the hill to the northeast. You should spot a hot air balloon in the sky.

Use your Swap to change the weights on the balloon from wood to stone.

The hot air balloon will come down, revealing the Etoi.

Realm of the Dead

23.

On your way to the Realm of the Dead, you grind a rail across a gorge using a hay bale.

Climb up the ladder and through into the next part of the cave, where you’ll find a stone pillar.

Swap it to wooden crates, smash it, and the Etoi will appear.

24.

Once you’ve made it to the graveyard in the Realm of the Dead, look on the right side of the first row of graves.

You want to do your slam attack on the tomb that is shaking.

Do this until all 6 candles are lit. This will reveal the Etoi.

Wondrous Woods

25.

On your way to visit the Tree of Life in the Wondrous Woods region, you will see a large orange mushroom.

This time, there are 30 small mushrooms scattered around this area that you need to make orange using your Swap. (All mushrooms are in the area before the rail)

Once all 30 mushrooms are orange, the Etoi will appear.

If you have been using this guide, you should unlock the Mushroom Maniac achievement once you have solved the four large mushrooms.

Serpent Door Cliff Area

26.

Once you have solved all 7 serpent puzzles in Central Riverside, you unlock the Serpent Door on the East side of the region.

As you enter this new area, there will be a shaking tree on the right side. Swap it to stone and the Etoi will fall out.

27.

There is a known bug that affects Etoi No.27 from being accessible, but thankfully, the developers have provided an excellent step-by-step solution, which you can read below.

There is a large tree near the back of this area. It has glowing roots growing into layers of rock.

You need to light up the number of dots on each rock that matches the number of roots growing into it.

Once you have swapped the correct number on each rock, the Etoi will appear.

Veena

28, 29, and 30.

The last 3 Etoi are given to you by Veena at her house near the Five Fellows Race track in Central Riverside.

You need to have cleaned five of the six dirty spots as part of the Dirty Spots side quest. You need 6 Etoi to clean each pool, so you need to have found at least 24 Etoi to achieve this.

Etoi Sanctuary

With all 30 Etoi found, head back to the Etoi Sanctuary, and Iddi will thank you for returning all the Etoi!
