Ruffy and the Riverside is a 3D platformer bursting with character and strewn with collectibles. Ruffy’s retro friend Pix needs your help to find all 30 Dreamstones across Riverside (He used all his to spruce up his look!) So here is our Ruffy and the Riverside Dreamstone Guide to help you find all 30 Dreamstones, unlocking the First Dreamstone and All Dreamstones achievements.
In the process of following the guide to collect all 30 Dreamstones, players will also unlock the I See Patterns, I See Too Many Patterns, and My Paintings, My World achievements for finding one Dreamstone, all of them, and painting every Dreamstone texture, respectively.
Want to read our thoughts on the game? Here is our Ruffy and the Riverside Review.
Pix
You can find Pix in his little retro zone, just to the South, outside the wall of Riverside Town.

He will ask you to help him track down the Dreamstones, magic stones that let you design your own versions of a lot of the textures in the game.

He tasks you with finding the first one, so he can show you how to use them. So, let’s get to it!
Riverside Town

1.
Near where you find Pix is a waterfall.

Use the nearby vines to Swap the waterfall so you can climb up and grab the first Dreamstone. Returning to Pix, he will explain how the Dreamstone lets you adjust a texture in the world. You will need to do this with all Dreamstone textures to unlock the My Paintings, My World achievement.

2.
Head round to the North of Riverside Town, and look for this symbol on the wall to the left of the town’s main entrance.

This is the solution for a nearby Pattern Potato, one of Ruffy and the Riverside’s recurring puzzles, with their own achievements, I See Patterns and I See Too Many Patterns for solving one and all of them, respectively.
Remember this image, and get up onto the roofs of Riverside Town, and then onto its ramparts. Look around for a strange monument with a small robed creature standing next to it. This is a Pattern Potato.

What you need to do is use your Swap ability on the Pattern Potato to make the 3×3 grid match the solution we found earlier (as we have done in the above image). Once solved, the Pattern Potato rises out of the ground, revealing a Dreamstone.

3.
Stay up on the ramparts and roofs, and look for a building with a large pink crystal on top.

There is a locked door with a small crystal lock underneath this large pink crystal. Use your Swap to change the lock’s color to match the large crystal. This unlocks the door for you to enter.

You’ll reappear at ground level in front of the crystal building. Climb up the ladder in front of you and look back at the door to find it locked again, now with two crystal locks. A large orange crystal has also appeared on the roof of the building. Use your Swap to change both locks to match the large crystals again.

Go through the door once more and climb up the ladder again. There are now 3 crystal locks above the door, and three large crystals on the roof. Change the locks’ colors a third time to unlock the door.

Inside, you’ll find a Dreamstone.

4.
There is a Pattern Potato to the South, outside the Riverside Town walls, but you need to have finished the Bale Farm part of the main story to have your own hay bale to ride.

To the East of Riverside Town is a cliff with a rail you can grind using a hay bale.

At the end of the rail is a small cave with the solution to the Pattern Potato on the wall. Hit the button to open the gate and drop down.

Solve the Pattern Potato to reveal the Dreamstone.

Central Riverside

5.
From entering Central Riverside from Riverside Town, drop down the cliff in front of you and look to your left.

Near the beginning of the Five Fellows race track is another Pattern Potato.

The solution is right behind it. Solve it to get the Dreamstone.

6.
You are awarded a Dreamstone for beating all five racers at the Five Fellows race track.

To learn how to beat these rowdy racers, check out our Ruffy and the Riverside – Five Fellows Guide.

7.
Head West into the crumbling castle, and find the basin with four doors in it. You need to enter the right door, or you’ll be spat out of the fountain behind you, and have to start again. Go through the third door.

You’ll end up in another part of the castle with more doors. Go through the door next to the one you exited.

You’ll now be on a tower with two wooden bridges connected to two other towers. Take the left bridge and enter the door.

You will arrive partway up the main castle tower. Climb up to the top to find the Pattern Potato and its solution on the wall behind it.

Solve the Pattern Potato to uncover the Dreamstone.

8.
To the North of the castle is a large tree stump with a branch protruding from it. Enter the tunnel at the end of the branch.

You will appear at the backside of the tree stump where the solution for a Pattern Potato is hiding.

Go back through the tunnel and run along the branch onto the tree stump to find the Pattern Potato tied to the solution you just found.

Solve it to get the Dreamstone.

9.
In the forest near the Etoi Sanctuary is a security door set into the wall.

The door’s aura is blue, so look for a blue bird nearby to Swap the color onto the crystal above the security door.

Inside is the Dreamstone.

10.
You are awarded a Dreamstone for helping the crow scientist Lux with his research on Northorey.

To learn more about how to help Lux and unlock the I Am A Scientist Now achievement, check out our Ruffy And The Riverside - Lux Guide.

11 and 12.
For these two, you need to have progressed passed the Bale Farm part of the main story to have your own hay bale. You will also need to have accessed the Steep Slope region as part of the main story.
Along the Five Fellows race track, below the crater with the lava geyser, is a rail you can grind on using your hay bale.

In this canyon, under the noxious fog, are a pair of Pattern Potatoes with solutions nearby on the walls, one at each end. However, the solutions are to the Pattern Potato on the opposite side of the canyon (there are arrows to hint at this).

Solving both Pattern Potatoes earns you two Dreamstones.

13.
This Dreamstone is awarded for completing the Bale Rally challenge that starts at the crater in Central Riverside and ends in the Eddler’s Lab & Beach area.

After completing the Bale Rally, you’ll be awarded a Dreamstone.

14.
Head over to the icy area to the East.

First, use the ice to Swap with the jets of water by the shipwreck, turning them to ice so you can jump up to the top deck.

Inside the cabin is the solution to the Pattern Potato frozen in ice.

Next, you need to Swap lava from the large geyser or small volcano near Riverside Town to the water surrounding the Pattern Potato.

This will melt the ice on the Pattern Potato so it can be solved.

A Dreamstone is your reward.

15.
The next Dreamstone is hidden under Jobboo’s floating island, next to the shark-infested pond near the icy area in Central Riverside.

There is a large square plank of wood surrounded by metal cubes, and above it, hanging from a small floating island, is a large U-shaped stone.

Use your Swap on the metal cubes to change the plank of wood and U-shaped stone into a sheet of metal and a magnet, respectively.

A short cutscene will play, showing the magnet lift the metal sheet off of the hole it was covering, which contains the Dreamstone.

You are halfway through our Ruffy and the Riverside – Dreamstone Guide. Great work, keep it up!
16.
This Dreamstone is a reward for returning the three missing boulders to the magic formation near the entrance to the Bale Farm.

The three boulders are scattered across Riverside, and you’ll have to roll them back by riding them like you would a hay bale.

One is tucked next to the large hollow log that leads to the Wondrous Woods region.

The second boulder is up the path to the left of the forest path leading to Riverside Town.

The last one is found behind a wall of stone blocks on the beach in the Eddler’s Lab & Beach region.

Once the last boulder is returned to the installation, the Dreamstone will appear.

17.
Head to the South of Central Riverside, and look for a gated cave up high on the cliff near a waterfall.

There are two stone platforms on the wall that you can move by using your Swap on surfaces with arrows. Head over to the serpent puzzle to get an upwards-pointing arrow.

Run back and Swap some of the blocks near the stone lift puzzle, so you have access to up and down.

Using the arrows, you need to get yourself up to the cave, and lifting the stone lift under it to the top will unlock the gate.

Inside the cave is the Dreamstone.

Serpent Door Cliff Region

18.
You need to solve the Serpent Puzzle to gain access to the cliff area past the Serpent Door in the East of Central Riverside.
Check out our Ruffy and the Riverside Enlightenment Guide to solve the Serpent Puzzle and how to unlock the Enlightenment! and Big Enlightenment! achievements.
Once you are in this cliffside area, head towards the large rocks on the left-hand side, just past the tree covered in vines.

Here you’ll find the solution to a Pattern Potato.

Opposite the solution, near the cliff, is the Pattern Potato.

Solve it to get the Dreamstone.

Eddler’s Lab and Beach Region

19.
Once you enter this region, look to the left to find a Pattern Potato.

The solution can acutally been seen from the Pattern Potato, but here is a cloe up shot.

Solve the Pattern Potato to get another Dreamstone.

20.
Head down to the beach and look for a security door located on a small island slightly to the right.

The security door’s aura is purple, so look for a purple bird to Swap their colour.

Change the security door’s crystal to purple, and the Dreamstone inside is yours.

Bale Farm
21.
As part of the main story, you will have to visit the Bale Farm at night.
While doing this, make sure to stop by the pond to the right of the stables to talk with the fish.

You’ll be rewarded with a Dreamstone.

22.
To the left of the stables is an area with vehicles and food carts.

Talk to the bear in front of the floating hay bale. The challenge is to do as many tricks on the bale as you can within the time limit.

Completing the challenge earns you a Dreamstone.

23.
To the left of the race track is a path going up the hill.

A Pattern Potato is up here, so now we need to find its solution.

Head back to the stables and open yours on the far right. Inside, on the back wall, is the solution.

Head back up the hill and solve the Pattern Potato to get the Dreamstone.

24.
Up the hill past the first bend in the race track is a security door.

Use your Swap on a blue bird or one of the buildings/vehicles in the fenced-in area to change the colour of the security door’s crystal to blue.

Inside is another Dreamstone.

Realm of the Dead
25.
On the way to the Realm of the Dead, you cross over a gorge by grinding a rail with your hay bale. The solution for a Pattern Potato is on the wall next to a ladder.

Climb the ladder, continue into the next part of the cave, and climb the next ladder. Here is the Pattern Potato.

Solve the Pattern Potato and grab the Dreamstone.
26.
To the left of the graveyard entrance in the Realm of the Dead is a security door.

Search the graves for some pink flowers so you can use your Swap to change the security door’s crystal to match its aura.

Inside is the Dreamstone.

27.
There is a Pattern Potato in the graveyard, but we need to find the solution.

Head behind the mausoleum and find the solution on the back wall.

Solve the Pattern Potato and get your Dreamstone.

Wondrous Woods
28.
On the way to the Wondrous Woods, you’ll come to an area with a large mushroom.

On the right-hand side is a tunnel with a river running out of it, with a smaller tunnel next to it. Walk inside the larger tunnel to be transformed into an Etoi! (You can transform back by walking back into the small tunnel.

Head over and enter the tunnel at the base of the hill, where the large mushroom is growing.

Carefully walk along the wooden path into the cave to find the Dreamstone.

29.
Before grinding along the rail, climb up onto the rocks to the left and look at the rock pillar in the ravine to see the solution to a Pattern Potato.

Jump on the rail and you see the Pattern Potato en route.

Solve the Pattern Potato to get the Dreamstone.

Northorey
30.
Head to Methok’s Camp in the northeast of the Northorey Region. There is a Pattern Potato here.

On the wall by the raised area with little huts is the solution to the Pattern Potato.

Solve the Pattern Potato to get the last Dreamstone.

If you have been following this guide, you should now have all 30 Dreamstones, so the last thing to do is return to Pix and tell him the good news!

You should unlock the First Dreamstone and All Dreamstones achievements for finding all 30 Dreamstones, as well as the I See Patterns and I See Too Many Patterns achievements for solving all the Pattern Potatoes.
My Paintings, My World Achievement
Once you have all the Dreamstones, go to the art section of the pause menu. Each Dreamstone lets you get creative with one texture in the game, from water and snow to dirt and grass.

To unlock the My Paintings, My World achievement, you want to edit all 30 textures, even just a little. The quickest way is to click the block icon next to the globe on the left side of the screen, just above the sliders. This will adjust the texture to look more pixelated, and then you can move on to the next one.
