Congratulations on your new role at FBC: Firebreak
Please find attached an outline of the job description and some tips to help you along the way.
If you require any more information, please reach out to your direct manager.
Tools of the Trade
Each time you enter the bowels of The Oldest House, you will be given a choice of equipment to take in with you called a "Crisis Kit". Each Kit has its own set of tools that will help you complete your tasks.
Upon starting your new job with FBC: Firebreak, each kit has a basic tool. As you prove yourself with the completion of tasks, you can upgrade your equipment to make your tasks easier to complete.
Fix Kit:
The fix kit will provide you with a wrench that will allow you to repair equipment at a staggering speed.
When you return with enough requisition tickets, you can request an upgrade to your wrench that will increase efficiency.
You also have access to an improvised device that autonomously acquires enemy targets and fires damaging projectiles, only referred to as a "Swivel Cannon"

Jump Kit:
The Jump Kit is equipped with an Electro-Kinetic Charge Impactor that can be used to quickly charge generators. Remember in first-grade science class, we were taught water and electricity don't mix. Well, this is in fact true. Firing the E-KCI at water creates an electrical discharge that can stun enemies. Just don't use it in the shower.
Like the Wrench, the E-KCI can be upgraded to increase efficiency.
You will also be supplied with a modified Boombox that attracts nearby enemies with some rad tunes, then explodes when it has taken enough damage.

Splash Kit:
The Splash Kit is equipped with a Crank-Operated Fluidic Ejector that is extremely efficient at putting out fires. Remember how the Jump Kits E-KCI emits electricity, I wonder what would happen if you covered an enemy with water and zapped them?
The C-OFE can also be used on allies that have been afflicted by any number of status effects.
The Splash Kit is also equipped with a "Humidifier" which is an improvised device that, once filled with water, sprays out liquid in a wide area, removing status effects and healing allies. Just make sure you bring a spare pair of socks.

Guns.
As well as your Crisis Kit. The FBC: Firebreak Division will provide you with a weapon to defend yourself.
When you first start out, you can choose between a double-barrelled shotgun, a revolver, and a submachine gun. Personally, I didn't bother with anything but the SMG. The pistol is a 1 shot but only has six bullets and takes ages to reload. The shotgun is devastating at close range, but only has 2 shots before a reload. The SMG has a 32-round mag and can hit things 50ish meters away, plus it’s great at close range.
As you return with lost documents, you can spend your requisition tickets on a pump-action shotgun or bolt-action rifle, which you will be familiar with if you have played Alan Wake. There is also a Light Machine Gun that has a massive magazine but lacks the range of the SMG.

Water is Life
During your escapades, you will be covered in all sorts of gunk, fluids, radiation, and possibly set on fire.
Green Decontamination showers are set up in each area. These will remove all elemental statuses and heal you. They can move between each visit, so make sure you search them out before you get overwhelmed.

If you look up, you might see a sprinkler on the ceiling. If you shoot it while you are standing under it, you can use the water you remove elemental statuses, but this will not heal you. Remember, destruction of company property will be dealt with severely.

There are safe rooms called "Shelters" spread across the Oldest House. Inside are sprinkler systems that can be set off you get rid of any status effects. There is also a sink inside that can be drunk from to heal you, so every time you see one, pop in for a quick drink.

What Should I Bring Back with Me?
Make sure you are exploring all the offices and bathrooms for Classified Documents and resources hidden around the Oldest House.
These documents come in a few variations. Open folders, briefcases, and bags. These are shared between the team, so don't feel bad about rushing in and grabbing them all.
A great source of documents is inside Shelters and defeating powerful enemies (named bosses)

Resources are tied to each level and are coloured piles of dust randomly lying around.
Just be aware that if you die, you drop everything you are carrying. So go back and grab it all.
After you finish a level, the documents will be turned into requisition tickets that can be spent on new weapons, upgrading your tools, cosmetics, and abilities.
Corruption
As you progress through the difficulties, you can unlock the ability to have corrupted objects invade your job.

These Corrupted Objects will appear in the form of different objects. You need to hunt them down and destroy them with extreme prejudice, as they provide enemies with buffs.
The only way to destroy them is with a special grinder weapon. These weapons can be found in the workshops that are located throughout each level. They can also be discovered lying around in shelters.

Stronger Together!
FBC: Firebreak has a resonance system. Meaning the closer you stick together, the more damage you can take. Above your health bar is a shield symbol. The number inside the symbol tells you how many team members are close. If it’s 0, you probably should go and find your team before you get overwhelmed.

Make me Stronger!
You can spend your requisition tickets on personal upgrades that will do all sorts of things, including keeping you alive, fixing things quicker, or doing elemental damage.
Each Crisis Kit can equip 9 abilities in total.

Each ability can be upgraded with resources, but with each upgrade, the ability requires another slot. Meaning a level 1 ability takes up one of nine slots. Where a level 3 ability takes up 3 of 9 slots. So, you can run 9 level one abilities or 3 level 3, or any number in between.
You might be thinking, why would I not want to equip 9 abilities? Level 3 abilities are actually tied to the resonance. Meaning it can be shared between team members that are close.

So, if you can communicate with your squad, 1 member can have a level 3 "Wet Rounds" which will prime enemies, covering them in water, and the other teammate can be running "Electric Rounds", combining elemental damage to devastating effect. Just be aware that if you move away from each other, you will lose the shared ability.
Thank you for taking the time to read through your handbook. I hope this helps make your job a little bit easier.
If you have any other questions, please ask someone else, as I am busy.
