Date Everything – Beginner Guide Tips & Tricks

Date Everything is out and this game has so much to do. We know that a game like this can be a lot, so we’ve created our Date Everything Beginner Guide. To get you started, here are some quick beginner’s tips for those who may just be diving into the world of dating sims.

For the purposes of this beginner guide, we’ll be keeping it pretty spoiler free. Check out our other guides for more detailed spoiler filled information where necessary!

Do I have to do the tutorial?

Yes, absolutely. Even if you begin a new game+, you’ll experience the first day as if you started the game fresh. Except in new game+ saying you want to skip this conversation is fine since you’ll know the steps. If it’s your first playthrough we highly recommend this plus it unlocks a few characters to get you started!

Do I really have to unlock everyone to finish the game?

Not at all! The game actually has multiple endings so you can end the game whenever you feel ready. Unlock as many or as few as you want. Just keep in mind that in order to get towards the true intended ending or if you want to achievement hunt, you’ll be unlocking much closer to the 100 than not. You can end the game during the tutorial if you choose to! Just walk out that front door and see those credits roll. Also that’s an achievement for you achievement hunters!

I heard Dating Sims can have some difficult content. What can I do?

Don’t worry Skylar has your back! When you interact with your first dateable that has content concerns Skylar will appear and ask you if you want the content aware feature on. I recommend putting this on if you have any topics that may make you feel concerned. This is also helpful if you want to try and speedrun some endings with characters and not get the hate ending.

How do I get to the attic for more characters?

We have a full guide ready for you to get into the attic!

How do I deliver items to certain dateables?

Assume that you already have the items on your person. For example, when Daisuke asks you to deliver the dishes, assume you’ve taken them from him. Then just go speak to the different characters you need to deliver the items to. No need to collect them along the way, these items are already in your possession.

Characters Keep Repeating The Same Lines?

If you’ve already hit an ending with a character, it’s very possible you’ll keep hearing the same lines over and over. That is because the game is waiting for you to progress other characters and story lines, including the over arching story. At first glance, it may seem like a bug, and not the bug you can date. However, that just means you’ve progressed as far as you can, for now. Check their date-a-dex entry to see if there’s more to be done or just revisit them later.

Some characters will require you to speak to them multiple times before you truly get the ending with them. We’re looking at you Luna! Pay close attention to those choices she gives you too. For Dorian, expect to speak to all 17 doors and expect his storyline to intertwine with someone else before you get more of his lore.

However if it really is a bug, the best place to check to see if it’s on the devs radar is their discord server. The developers are quick to respond and have been keeping an eye on all bugs and responding to people pretty quickly!

What if I need a hint on where to find dateables?

There are three main characters who will give you hints if you need to unlock a dateable. If you’re looking for a specific room, speak to Dorian the door for that room. He’ll give you the scoop on certain dateables. If you need more rumors, talk to Maggie the magnifying glass and Phoenica the phone. Each of them will give you hints or gossip on where to find the next dateable!

Can I redo an ending with a character?

Yes and no. Jean-Loo will give you a second chance to complete the rap, but he will tell you when it’s your last chance. However, as you earn enough skill points and speak to Keith, he will offer you a candy related to your SPECS. If you don’t know where to find Keith, make sure you check out our Underworld guide to find him down below!

Best recommendation we can give would be to have a few different save slots. Rotate your save slots for each day, two or three should do the trick. Then if you get an ending you really didn’t want, you can try to go back a few days to try again! Of course, you could always just start up a whole new game!

Can I get all the collectibles in one run of the game?

Unfortunately no. You’ll need a few as certain collectibles are tied to the endings and conversation choices with characters. Enjoy your time with the game!

I can’t find the remaining characters in the date-a-dex! Even with these roomers!

We’ve put together a guide for some of the most difficult to find characters. Did we miss one? Let us know and we’ll be sure to update for your pleasure!
