At today's Xbox Games Showcase 2025, we got an absolute slew of announcements and world premieres. In the mix, we got a glimpse at a new mystery game, There Are No Ghosts at The Grand. There are No Ghosts at The Grand promises to be a cozy, yet spooky, mystery game with a musical flair. Seriously, as a ska enthusiast, I was grinning from ear to ear.
What We Know So Far
So, what do we know about There are No Ghosts at The Grand so far? We've become the heir, albeit somewhat reluctantly, of a derelict hotel on the coast of England. This establishment, The Grand, was owned by your real father – a father you never met. A father who also mysteriously disappeared while in the process of restoring the hotel. The Grand, once known for its charm and hospitality, has seen better days. You'll spend the time as its new owner going from room to room, solving puzzles that will seek to restore The Grand to its former glory.

In the process of returning The Grand to what it once was, you'll uncover some supernatural secrets of the building's past. You'll use wildly exaggerated power tools to renovate and repair, and continue to look into what happened to your estranged father.

There are No Ghosts at The Grand promises to be a unique blending of game genres. It's not going to be a simulation game. It won’t be a straight city-building game. It's truly going to be a unique experience that will dig into memories of what people leave behind. This game will also be the first release from Friday Sundae, a small indie-game studio based in Bristol, England.
There are No Ghosts at The Grand is slated to be coming to Xbox at some point in 2026. Stay tuned for more eventual news as it drops about this game, as well as our full coverage of the Xbox Games Showcase.
