High On Life took the gaming world by storm late in 2022. While it had a lot of humor and looked fun, critics didn’t seem to take much of a liking to it. The community on the other hand by in large loved it. Well today during the Xbox Showcase, Squanch Games announced a sequel with High On Life 2.
The sequel, which is set for a winter 2025 release date, looks to be more of what made High On Life so special to begin with. The crazy, talking guns are back, as is the vibrant world and chaotic gameplay. Unlike the first game, High On Life 2 will not launch as an Xbox exclusive, as it was announced to be on PlayStation 5 as well as PC. It will however launch on Xbox Game Pass.
The announce trailer shows off a lot of action with a mix of gameplay and cinematics. The player looks to have some sort of hoverboard as they fly through the city in a parkour like fashion. We then get to see some of the guns featured. The way the trailer is setup is sure seems like some of the guns will come together to form even more powerful guns. We will have to wait and see more to find out. Interestingly we didn’t really get any banter from the guns which was a big selling feature of the original.

High On Life 2 is coming to Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games in the winter of 2025. It will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title and launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
