The rumors are turning out to be true. We're starting to get the remasters of the beloved Metal Gear series! During today's Sony State of Play Showcase, Konami unveiled more about Metal Gear Solid DELTA: Snake Eater.
Metal Gear Solid DELTA: Snake Eater will be the first major entry into the Metal Gear franchise since the release of Metal Gear Survive in 2018. This remake of the classic 2004 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was set in 1964 in the middle of the Cold War tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union. In this game, we follow the FOX Operative codenamed Naked Snake. The government has tasked Naked Snake with rescuing a Soviet scientist and sabotaging a new superweapon in development. Naked Snake must use his stealth and cunning to succeed, lest the world plunge into nuclear fallout and further conflict.
During June 2025's Sony State of Play, Konami has promised a more immersive experience in the setting of this story. With this immersive experience, we will still get what we loved. The story, the characters, along with the voice acting, gameplay, and music – they will all be there in their former glory!
Snake Vs. Monkey
Along with the release of Metal Gear Solid DELTA: Snake Eater, the special "Snake vs. Monkey" will be making an appearance. The chimps from Ape Escape (prominently featured in the award-winning Astro Bot), will also be highlighted in this special feature. Stealthily find all the chimps for capture, because even Naked Snake needs a break from fighting the Soviet Union sometimes.

Metal Gear Solid DELTA: Snake Eater is available for pre-order today and is slated for release on August 28th, 2025. Be sure and keep up with Gamer Social Club for more news around the release. Also, check out our summary review of this most recent State of Play.
