Like many games these days, The Precinct has an XP system where earning it helps level up your character. There's even an achievement tied to hitting the max level, "A Promising Career". But what is the best way to go about levelling up? In this guide we are going to cover the most efficient way as well as one that isn't quite as efficient but will at least be a bit more enjoyable.
Before we start though let me just say that I recommend you naturally play the game before worrying about the leveling up. You will naturally get a decent chunk of the way there simply by playing as intended.
Things like giving out tickets, finding hidden items, time trials, races and accepting calls will all gain you XP. If you are going for the 100% of the game this will probably be your last thing to do unless you just want to be levelled up to help with the game.
For reference level 20 is the max level you can obtain. So let's get into these methods to get you there!
The Most Efficient Method
While this may not necessarily be the most enjoyable method, it will certainly be the quickest.
Choose any shift you'd like and exit the precinct. Rather than going to your car to head to your patrol route simply begin roaming around the precinct on foot. Anytime you see a pedestrian walk up to them and interact with them. Check their ID and search them for anything illegal.
If they have any outstanding warrants or anything illegal on them you can arrest them. And since you are right near the precinct you can very quickly escort them back and book them. Each time you book a suspect you will earn 250XP on top of the few hundred you will have gotten for arresting them.
This will also help you get the "Book "˜Em Cordell" achievement/trophy for booking 30 suspects. You should easily be able to get 5-6000XP even on a short 6 hour shift with this method making it the best, albeit most boring option.
The More Enjoyable Method
While this method will take a bit longer to do, it is a bit more enjoyable for a grind.
Select or create a custom shift where you are on helicopter patrol. The reason I suggest this over other patrols is because it is much more simple to fly the helicopter and rack up XP. In a squad car you may end up on a chase for a while and destroy your car or die and lose that time.
In the helicopter everything is much smoother and while you are relying on the AI to catch the criminals they do a fairly good job of it and you have no fear of crashing or dying. This method is probably about half the speed of the first method listed here so it's up to you what's more important, enjoying the grind a bit more or getting it done quicker.
