As if today’s Xbox Game Pass announcements for the back half of May wasn’t enough, a partnership with Antstream Arcade has also been announced to bring more than 50 classic Activision titles to the service.
The partnership brings “Retro Classics” to Game Pass. Beginning today all Xbox Game Pass subscribers have access to 50+ retro classics from the Activision catalog from the 1980’s and 90’s. This includes anyone on an Xbox console, PC or cloud.
Xbox has also said you can expect to see more titles added to the Retro Classics section over time. Some of the titles headlining this new collaboration include Pitfall!, Kaboom!, Commando, and Mech Warrior 2.
“With Retro Classics, Game Pass members can expect a seamless gaming experience across console, PC, and on supported devices with cloud gaming,” an Xbox Wire post reads. “Whether playing on Xbox console, the Xbox app on PC, or streaming on supported LG and Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, and Meta Quest headsets, Retro Classics offers a versatile and accessible way to enjoy these nostalgic titles.”
“Game Pass members can access Retro Classics through their Game Pass membership by searching and installing the feature via their console or on the Xbox app on PC. Additionally, players can take on friends, rivals, or the entire world with unique challenges.”
If you are into achievements, we have some good news as well. While nothing has come out definitively, Xbox has said there will be “some great new ones to collect.” Our guess at the moment is this will be treated similarly to the Antstream Arcade achievement list or like Rare Replay back in the day rather than individual lists for each game.

In addition to the 50+ announced titles in the Retro Classics catalog, Antstream has also announced that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can access the entire Antstream Arcade catalog at a discounted price.
For a limited time, Game Pass users can access the 1300+ games in the Arcade for just £9.99 / $9.99 for their first year on console. If you are a retro gamer it sounds like a no brainer opportunity at a great price point. Currently the Anstream Arcade is $59.99CAD.
