FromSoftware, the iconic studio behind 2023’s GOTY, Elden Ring, has revealed the sixth playable character for their upcoming co-op action roguelike spin-off, Elden Ring: Nightreign.
The Raider is the latest of the Nightfarers, the archetypes that players can pick from when playing Nightreign, to be shown to the public with a new trailer that you can watch below.
This new addition to the roster seems to live up to his name, appearing like a large barbarian wearing a horned skull and fur cloak over studded leather armour, carrying a huge axe. No doubt a Strength build, players can see the Raider seemingly headbutt a dragon, all while smashing his enemies with his giant axe.
The Raider’s special ability sees them summon their rage to call a monolith of rock out of the ground that they and other players can climb up. This gives players a height advantage, epitomised by the Ironeye player character, the last one to receive a character trailer, standing atop the tower of rock and shooting down on foes below. Of course, the trailer finished with the classic shot of the Raider leaping off the rock, about to strike an unfortunate foe in the face; a perfect action freeze-frame!

FromSoftware has said that there will be eight playable Nightfarers at the game’s release, meaning we will likely see the next two revealed over the next few weeks before Elden Ring Nightreign arrives on 30th May across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One.
