Hot off the heels of the GSC visit to London Games Festival, we’re already looking at how we can bring more great indie coverage to you! And luckily there’s always plenty going on in the UK indie games scene.
The Glasgow Independent Games Festival is officially set to take place on 9th August 2025 at the Barras Art and Design (BAaD) Building. Last years festival, rebranded from the Southside Games Festival, feature 10 amazing indies from Scottish developers alongside industry talks and shows. The 2025 event promises to be even bigger, with a new venue, more amazing indie games and a host of game related art and performances.

Organised by the Glasgow Independent Games Group (GIGG), the festival is an opportunity for a look into the vibrant world of indies, talk to their developers about their stories in the industry and connect with fans and creatives in the gaming community.
Joe Bain, Director of GIGG, said, "The Glasgow Independent Games Festival is a platform for indie developers to shine and for the industry to come together to celebrate the artistry and innovation of games. We're excited to welcome everyone to the Barras Art and Design Building for a day of creativity, collaboration, and inspiration."
If you’ve been following the site for a while, you’ll know that we’re super passionate about the indie space and all of the creativity it brings to the industry, and being a Glasgow girl myself, supporting the Scottish games industry is something very close to my heart! So maybe we’ll see you there!
