Capcom has finally shown off Elena, the long anticipated final character for season 2 of Street Fighter 6. Making her debut back in Street Fighter III : New generation in 1997, Elena proved to be among the more memorable characters from the SF3 series overall as she was both the series first African fighter as well as the first capoeria fighter, and the first fighter to fight predominantly using kicks, predating fan favorite Juri.

Elena later appeared in Ultra Street Fighter IV where she proved to be a popular (or infamous depending on your perspective) character in the competitive scene. It’ll be interesting to see how Capcom approaches Elena’s gameplay as she’s usually a highly defensive character but, Street Fighter 6 overall has had a higher focus on offense than defense in the game and every fan is likely wondering whether they’ll actually bring her healing mechanic back in a game this offensive. Honestly if she can slow the game down I may play her myself.
A trailer for Elena can be viewed here.
The character is set to launch on June 5th, 2025 which is a bit surprising as Capcom is starting the next season of their competitive tour meaning there will be two tournaments without the character featured, something they haven’t done with past releases of characters.
