Elden Ring: Nightreign Shows Off Official Duchess Character Trailer

The release of Elden Ring: Nightreign draws ever closer. And to keep up the excitement FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have just released a new character trailer for the Duchess.

Last week we had the reveal of Ironeye, and while we know a little less about him, the Duchess has a outline of her abilities over on the Bandai Namco page for Nightreign.

Players of the Network Test will already be familiar with the Duchess and will have had a chance to experience her highly evasive playstyle.

From the Network Test:

  • Character Type: The Duchess is known for her agility and dexterity, embodying a thief or assassin type known for evasion and swift, precise attacks.
  • Passive Ability: Magnificent Pose
    • Enhances both attacks and dodges, enabling repeated evasion during combat.
  • Character Skill: Restage
    • Replay damage dealt by the player and allies to nearby foes, which can be highly destructive with coordination.
  • Ultimate Art: Finale
    • It conceals herself and nearby allies from enemy sight, offering strategic invisibility.

Starting out with a rapier, the Duchess looks to be the dexterity focused character of Elden Ring: Nightreign, focusing on quick movement and evasion. Instead of a dodge roll, she has a quick side step so you can get out of the fray quickly before unleashing her character ability Restage to inflict enemies damage back at them.

As a big fan of dex builds in all of FromSoftware titles, I’m definitely looking forward to playing around with the Duchess’ unique moveset when Elden Ring: Nightreign drops on May 30th 2025. I’m also sure her resemblance to Lady Maria from Bloodborne and the Fire Keeper from Dark Souls 3 will make sure she’s got a fan following already.
