Diablo IV Gets A Roadmap For 2025

The Age of Hatred continues! Earlier today, Daiblo IV’s Game Director, Brent Gibson, published an article on the official Xbox website with news of the game’s future. Initially released in 2023, Diablo IV has received its first roadmap, detailing what is coming to the game for the rest of 2025.

Gibson started the post by showing his appreciation for the Diablo fanbase and reflecting on the game’s progress so far. “Diablo wouldn't be what it is today without our players,” said Gibson, “Sanctuary belongs to you as much as it belongs to us. Every shred of feedback, every heated debate, and every shared moment in-game fuels the fire that drives how we continue to grow our game together.”

Speaking on the new roadmap, he stressed how important it was that they were upfront with the fans. “Transparency is our guiding star with its reveal, and we're excited to pull back the curtain and deepen our conversation with you, our community, by providing a view of the path ahead.”

Looking at the roadmap image above, fans can see the next three planned Diablo IV seasons coming in 2025 – Belial’s Return, Sins of the Horadrim, and Infernal Chaos. While this content is seasonal, and thus temporary, the team at Blizzard will be making permanent additions and changes to the game, such as keyboard and mouse support for consoles.

Eagle-eyed readers will notice two IP collaborations planned during the Belial’s Return and Infernal Chaos seasons. While nothing has been shared as to what these are, Gibson did say that they were “thrilled to be working with universes that resonate deeply with the dark themes of the Diablo universe.” Diablo 4 will also be celebrating its 2nd anniversary soon, with more details about it coming soon.

While this roadmap may be focused on what is still coming to Diablo 4 in 2025, it does allude to the game’s next expansion, as well as the addition of leaderboards and a new ranking system, planned for 2026. Gibson signed off the article reminding fans how important their feedback is, and to reach out via the relevant channels. “Your thoughts on what lies beyond are crucial. We're so thankful to be building Sanctuary alongside you”.
